Let's be honest here whatever they reported was always going to be twisted by some. If they say shipped people will say shipped to stores. if they say sold people will say sold to stores. There is no way they can win really.

As others have pointed out they say sold 1m which you have to assume in the context it is written most likely means there are 1m people who bought it. It is a pretty basic number and i think they just wanted to say it had crossed 1m sales rather then be specific on detailed numbers. Saying you crossed the 1m mark is the actual point of the release. All the news sites will now report it. No doubt in a week or so they will say 2m etc.

which facts do you have exactly? cause you're making a statement, not a hypothesis.

I'm not really keeping up with Kinetic numbers too much, so no I don't realize that.  Thank you for the clarification.  And shipping more product still means (in theory) there is more demand for it, though I agree saying "we shipped 1 million" then "we shipped 1.X" would be a waste of breathe.

I don't think you're trying to be condescending in the beginning of your response, but it is coming off that way to me.

Even if Greenburg has stated 'sold to consumer' we have seen this before in other PR statements. I do not know if this is sold to retailer, shipped. Or does he have the information on all the retailers who have sold kinect to the consumer...

Ah, his tweet is more clear cut, thanks.  So many uses and aliasing on the term "sold" has me confused.  Sold through to customers is more explicit.

Your post betrays your intentions badly. Kinect is not directly tied to 360 hardware sales. Regardless of selling and sell-through the numbers for the 360 would be as reliable as ever. The fact that you are trying to tie the two together but only so far as PS3 "beating" 360 is quite telling indeed.
