Forums - Microsoft - Xbox live family pack...

Has anyone here used the new live family pack? I am wondering exactly how it works, are all four live accounts just like normal live accounts? Do you have to be related or can friends split a four pack? I want to get a coupe of friends to split it with me but I do not know if thats possible. Thanks for any info

OK, did my own research. Looks like you can share them as long as they are all in the same country. The downside being that it looks like all ms points purchases are charged to the main account. So you better trust your friends! I'll have to think about this one.

Thanks for sharing the info. Good to keep this in mind just in case.

I thought points were payed for by the main account and then transfered to the sub accounts.

Thanks for this. I've been seriously needing to look into this and you have lit a fire under my ass to do so now. I'm wondering about existing accounts though, like if I can just add my sons' current accounts, gamertags and all to this plan. If I don't find the an answer online then I'll call the 800 number and find out then post it here.

This isn't the answer but I did just find this,http://www.vgrevolution.com/2010/11/microsoft-having-wide-spread-xbox-live-billing-problems/

Ok dudes, this should answer just about all questions, http://www.xbox.com/en-US/Live/JoinLive/FamilyPackFAQ

It's a good plan and I will be getting down with it once the issues in the other link I posted are resolved. I'll have an extra account to fool around with too.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

I converted my gold account and my 2 sons gold accounts to a Family Plan. With the extra I created a gold account for my wife as well.  We got credit for all the time remaining on the 3 accounts we already had.  If only they would allow a 5th account for an added fee for when my youngest is old enough for his gold account we would be totally set.

It is nice to be able to manage all the counts together now.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

You obviously didn't have any problem then I'm assuming, that's awesome. Lol, you sound like me with all the kids and shit. I have 2 that play on the regular and 2 more babies but the 16 mo. old is always grabbing controllers and turning on the 360 so it won't be too long.

Actually only the "Main account holder" can buy stuff via the CC info on the account.

If you were the main account then you could buy stuff, but your friends could not, unless they added points to their accounts using a point card.

All 4 accounts need to be on a single 360 to add them to the family pack, after that is done though you can then recover the gamertags onto other consoles.

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

Me and three friends are definitely going to do this. $25 for xbl is amazing. Were all close friends too so the points thing wont be a big issue either.

I remember doing something similar to this back in the dial up ages with America Online.
