Transformers: War for Cybertron 2 Confirmed

Transformers MMO project coming to the West.

Hasbro confirmed during its investor conference earlier this week a sequel to Transformers: War for Cybertron is currently in development and is set for release sometime in 2012.

Mark Blecher, SVP and General Manager of Digital Media & Gaming, said he was pleased with the response of the first title released earlier this year.

"This is the most highly-rated, critical success of any game that's had the Hasbro brand yet and we're looking forward to a sequel in 2012," Blecher stated.

It's expected San Diego-based High Moon Studios, the developer of the first game, is behind the sequel, though that information has not been confirmed.

Blecher also said the Transformers: Dark of the Moon video game will be released in 2011 to coincide with the launch of the movie. Additionally, the Transformers MMO, in development by NetDragon, is planned for launch in the West but no specific territories were mentioned.

If you are like me, Transformers: War for Cybertron was a sweet surprise. A sequel is much welcomed!

I loved the game, but I think it needs to offer more value in SP.

If you're like me, a massive Transformers fan, who loved Transformers War For Cybertron, it is bloody good news.

But it's 2012!!!

Oh well Dark of the Moon has me covered for 2011's Transformers

I really didn't like the first one. They should just try and make a Neon Genesis Evangelion game, but call it Ion Genie Apocalyptic Mecha to avoid copyright infringement. I'd buy two copies and I'll even buy their Bourne Conspiracy game.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

First game was really good, though I always had the feeling that the levels were too long with only a small variety.

Why are levels being too long something not liking? I just never heard of someone not liking a level being too long before that's all. Or do you mean in the sense that they were dragged out?

And yes I can agree with you that there was a lack of variety in the campaign. Especially the Boss Fights.

Exactly.

Each level had kind of its own theme and I think every level took me around 45-60 minutes and after 30 minutes I usually had enough and just wanted the story or the location to move on.

As I said before the game was good, but I have never manged to play more than one level in one gaming session.
