Why are some people saying world of warcraft? It has been out for more than 3 years and sold 9.19M, so 3M/year. Why would it increase from that?

Starcraft 1 sold 10M, so I can fully understand that, but isn't the PC market really slowing down?

1) wii fit - i assume they can average making 250k/week, so that's 13mil this year

2) ssbb - 9-10 million this year; i may be underestimating it, tho

3) wii play - will sell 8 million this year

4) gta4 - combining 360+ps3, 6-8 million

4) mario kart wii - will beat gta4 lifetime, but not in 2008 as it likely doesn't come out until august (will sell about 6 million)...still, will be not far from gta4's combined by end of 08 and pass it in first half 09


also of note: wii sports in japan will sell 4-5 million this year and 15+mil in NA/Others, so 20+mil in 2008 when including bundled in

and at least one WiiWare game will break 2mil this year as well

probably ssbb will win. although wiifit and gta4 (on both consoles) will have a shot at first. but with ssbb releasing earlier in the year i think it'll take top dog in '08. mario kart i'd say would be second behind ssbb if it released early like brawl but since it probably won't come out till the summer i'll put it 4th. all of these games will sell over 7 million this year and nothing else will be close. these four games are the only ones that should even be considered to be in the hunt for top title in '08.

mgs is not a huge seller and won't even compete for top 5 this year. gt5 won't either cuz it's an exclusive to system with be far the smallest userbase.

Sorry, but Gran Turismo or any PS3 exclusive, is largely limited in sales due to its current userbase, which will exand with those released, but not enough to grant GTA4 level sales, imo.
