The PS3 is more of a multimedia hub than the 360, i mean i can't even copy my ipod music to my 360 to play them, nor videos i toke from my camera, but on PS3 i can do that, and ontop of that, Sony is going Apeshit crazy on Apps lately, there is so many (though most of them i can't use)

So 360 and PS3 and Wii are never going to be "No longer a gaming console" but rather expanding on other mediums while keeping the core intact, i have no complain about that, i can replace other stuff with them for space which is great IMO

With PS3 being for BDs and 360 for Netflix, can we say that Wii has 100% share among video GAME consoles?

while i'm not surprised that people spend a lot of time doing non-gaming things on their 360 i disgree with your tone about that being a bad thing.

it's going in the same direction Sony started with their huge launch focus on blu-ray. the devices (ps360) do games, music, movies, internet, photo albums, and social activities.  it's great!  make the devices so much more worth while having in my house.

it's kind of the same reason i've ditched my DS in favor of my iphone.  the iphone is just so much more useful on all fronts that i just can't be bothered taking my DS anywhere.

anyways, i like this direction.  convergence is a good thing.

By math logic, it still used for gaming the most, therefore it IS a gaming console.

thats actually how i copy my media, if you don't know , you can stream anything on the PS3 via UPNP connection (like Windows Media Player, thats one of the UPNP media servers), on the Xbox you can only stream , but on PS3 you can stream and copy that media to your hardrive.

plus on PS3 there are more supported media servers such as the one i use most since i am a ubuntu user, Rhythmbox, the 360 is locked to Windows apps, only if you install third party software you can unlock support for more media servers, but i don't blame Windows for locking support for their own products.

Primary tasks games secondary task media. Pretty much the same for the PS3 though tbh. Probably more so as they even included Blu Ray.

Before I got windows 7 I used TVersity on windows as my window to the 360 so it is not true that you can only use Windows media extenders you can up upnp as well.
