How much did Nintendo want Wii Music to sell?

Around the Network

Expect massive IGN meltdowns.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Sorry Miyamoto, no.

Just ..... let it die.

Yeah, never try to do something right if it doesn't work the first time. You'd think people learned by trial and error instead of trying once and then giving up if it's wrong.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Wii Music 2, but no Star Fox.

There is no justice in the world.

Miyamoto wishes Star Fox were more popular.

Good!  I hope they do.   The Music game genre is dying and IF they can do it right this time, Wii Music 2 could revive it.

Just got Wii Music recently (cheap) and I was surprised by how much I liked it but there's a lot of issues with it.

One: Too much of a learning curve.

Two: WAY too much of a learning curve to ever be accessible as a 'party' game.

Three: Music selection sucks and in midi!  Like WTF? Spend some money you cheap b@$^@'&$

Four: Didn't see any way to compose completely original tracks.

Five: No Ocarina of Time

Six: Could've used WM although it does admirable without.

Seven: I have zero musical talent or skill.  Make me feel otherwise Nintendo.  GH/RB does.

Eight: When the original released GH & RB had fully defined what the consumer expected from a music game and Wii Music sure wasn't it.   Now that GH & RB are largely forgotten Wii Music 2 is more free to be it's own thing.

This time, put in good music, and have a virtual drumset using two motion , and a music editor, and I'll buy it for sure.

Do it like the previous, and you lose my respect.

Nintendo thinks that when a game isn't recieved well they need to make it more "accessible". Like Super Mario Galaxy 2. So expect it to be worse on that front, not better.

The fact it that music composition can't be made accessible even by Nintendo. It requires a long learning curve with specialist software, a grounding in music theory, and probably being able to play at least the piano (keyboard). Waggle won't fix that, you can't even make a good track in Mario Paint's composer without understanding those things.

NB: I can't compose or play an instrument. But I'd like to. Hence many years spent searching for some easy way to do it - there isn't one.

why you think Super Mario Galaxy is better than the second one?
