Essentially, the bundles for people without X360 are in stock everywhere but Target, while the Kinect hw + game bundles for existing X360 bundles are sold out everywhere but Game Stop. This sort of reflects my concern for Kinect this Christmas - the initial buyers will be the existing X360 audience primarily. The console bundles are certainly selling well if you look at the top-selling retailer products on their websites, but it doesn't seem like the demand is ahead of expectations in the way that the Kinect + Game bundle demand is from the X360 audience. For Kinect to be a huge hardware pusher, it'd be easier the other way around - the sales to the base strong but not sellouts and the sales to everyone else above supply levels on strong word of mouth or something.

What have you all heard anecdotally? Once COD week slows a bit I'm probably going to go over to some retailers and ask for some opinions on Kinect sales.

In retail stores in my area, all Kinect Game bundles are sold out (Best Buy, Walmart, Gamestop, and Target).

I have seen plenty of the Kinect 360 Game bundles in stock, though.

Still, my brother bought one, and he's a casual audience, and while my friend and I were waiting on CoD last night, we played some Kinect Adventures which now has his girlfriend wanting one.

EDIT:  I see the Plus Sign still doesn't work :/

you guys should have vgc interviews, were scattered vgchartz users, with vgchartz shirts, go to retailers and do interviews on video, on certain hot products gamers would be interested in, in terms of sales stats. Would really garner up interest imo

Actually at ToysRus.com 250GB is sold out.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

I said it before and I still keep...

First =  Existing users
After = New buyers

OP. Brazil has no Kinect yet.

I'm guessing they will put the throttle down on advertising as thanksgiving approaches. I haven't really seen any tv ads yet so I think the bulk of their marketing effort still lies ahead.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

What does this have to do with the topic? I don't even understand what you're talking about.

Kinect is pretty easy to find in NYC, bundles and stand alone.

Don't know where you live but I see a LOT of Kinect ads on TV, and when I say lot I mean LOT! I even saw one I haven't seen before yesterday, it was a Kinect ad by Target. The marketing push has started and has been in full swing for a while now.

Kinect success may take a LONG time to happen and the peripheral may have an average/good start but huge legs like Wiifit !
The initial effect have to be relativised. Because kinect may not be so appealing to casual RIGHT NOW (because it is too news), the first buyers will be Xbox360 userbase (the ones hyped by internet for example). As I was saying some posts ago, seducing the 360 userbase, as MS has done since E3 2009, was essential to help kinect to have an early adopters base that will show the peripheral to their friends/familly. In clear, it is important for MS to seduce the hardcore 360 gamers.
Indeed, I do believe that the very first Wii adopter were NOT casual. They were Ninty fans that wanted to play the next Zelda/Mario.
