Their best game in years is Chaos Rings... Too bad it's iPhone only so most on this site will never play this masterwork.. hope they make a sequel to that or at least port it from the iPhone to another handheld/console..

What Chu Say Nikka!

Media.Vision( Wild Arms) Developed that... dont give SE a Lick of Credit for it.

Sssssssssttt!!!!! don't destroy the hope that SE has made at least 1 masterpiece in the last few years.. they can bounce back to the top!

SE has a strange definition of reboot. Maybe relaunch, or even expansion, but reboot?

As long as they bring Mana back out of hiding and do with it what made the older games great.

Do you guys really want Square-Enix to make a new Chrono game?

I mean, seriousely, Square-Enix?

Let Horii do it.  He made the only good one. ;)

But I thought he worked on Trigger...

He did. Like I said. <3

actually Horii didn't do that much for Trigger. He made the basic concept alongside Sakaguchi, but most of the actual main plot was contributed to Masato Kato (who was the writer-director of Cross) with Kitase and Tokita doing sub-plots.

Yeah, I know Horii did the base scenario, but he also supervised the entire project.  That's probably key, I mean if he can get Level-5 to make a good RPG, he can probably get about anyone to do it. <3

How about this... Armor Project, Mistwalker, Tokita's team collaborate on a "Chrono Trigger II".  If they need they can also hire whichever code monkeys (Level-5, Matrix Software, h.a.n.d., etc) suits their fancy.  And hire Kato freelance.  Sound good?

Great to hear! I really think most things Square Enix do that aren't main FF games are mostly the best (which is sad to say actually, but oh well...).

Also, they should reboot Einhänder! Oh and maybe E.V.O. and Soul Blazer.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Horii was still pretty minor on the supervision thing, it seemed to mostly be Kato's baby when you get down to the main story. Horii can make a premise, but quite frankly the guy can't really write an engaging PLOT and complex characters unlike Kato who made some of Square's best narratives like Xenogears (and partly FFVII.

And no, we don't actually need another Chrono game. Cross wrapped up everything nice and neat with the two worlds combining into one

well, that's some of weirdest crap I've heard all week, though considering T3B is doing its best to BUTCHER the canon of both the previous two games and the novel they were sequels to, maybe I shouldn't be surprised. They also seem toe be forgetting that Front Mission Evolved was a huge flop as was NIER. As for Chrono and Mana, LEAVE THEM BE. They at least have some dignity left. Unless you got Kato and Tokita to do another Chrono game, but they've refused to do another one unless they got all the old team bac

Flopping doesnt mean its a bad game. T3B being a reboot doesnt bother one bit.

Agree on some level with Aiddon, dont touch Chrono, Mana, Tactics or Vagrant Story, those games should remain as timeless classics, unless of course Sakaguchi decides to involve it himself. he was involved in some extent to some of those games and imo towards their success.

but T3B might turn out to be quite good, and Nier wasnt was bad game, they should focus on making successes of current games or new IPs, imo the new SE with Wada cant be trusted to honor the quality of the originals.

Chrono would be fine if they could get all the old crew back, but that's not going to happen (even if Kato is an INCREDIBLY talented story writer). Mana MIGHT need some work since Dawn of Mana was HORRENDOUS. Tactics and VS would be fine since most of their old team is still around (and Matsuno is back) even if VS has a problem of probably needing to make a story without Ashley (though Ashley's development was DONE at the end of VS, so maybe they shouldn't worry about that).

As for NIER, it wasn't a BAD game but it had a near-universal "meh" associated with it critically and was quickly forgotten. T3B on the other hand also has the stupid idea that somehow ignoring the ENTIRE PREMISE of its predecessors is somehow a good thing (especially considering the premise was NOT made by Square). Plus from what I've seen and read in previews it doesn't even seem like the gameplay is going to redeem it (note to Square: YOU SUCK AT SHOOTERS)

Yeah, Matsuno is back, but we just dont know if hes going to be heading up any projects. hopefully he will be with his old team. i doubt Chrono would happen, but imo, they shouldnt do it unless they can get the 'Dream Team' back to do it. i think that games like VS should remain timeless classics, while it would be nice to have a sequels/ reboots, it also nice those talented developers do something different.

having playe Nier, i agree it was medoicure, still havent finished it. well i think Kitase and Toriyama are heavily involved in T3B, so i have no idea if their addition will help the project. its a shooter on the PSP, which is the wrong platform anyway, not to mention the controls cant be as good as console based shooters, so already at a disadvantage imo. and so far all i've heard is about Aya clothes coming off..... i doubt PE was about that before.... though i'm not dismissing it.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

T3B is pretty much dead right out of the starting gates. Problem: Toriyama is doing the plot (and he's never written a good narrative, period) and it's already apparent that the Aya in previews is NOT portrayed as she should be. Her gross objectification also does not help matters

CHRONO Damnit!

Well  if SE is actually going to make a good reboot i would love a new chrono game. Though i wish SE would also do some more new IP's and give me KH3 a release year for FFvXIII (it better be 2011....).

Ohh and no more total failures like FFXIV...
