The hardware makers , however, do (except for sony but there's alwats good old Pachter for the rescue )
It won't take long until Xbox360 surpasses Xbox lifetime sales in NA only. Great achievement for MS.

Why are these numbers wildly different from the numbers on the front page? Canada and Mexico makes the difference?

No difference at all, if we assume that the US market accounts for around 85% of the American markets.
