Forums - Sales Discussion - PAL Charts - Week 44

Goldeneye had a great opening, with good word of mouth and advertising it will easily become the best selling first-person shooter on Wii. In my opinion it should sell around 2 million copies worldwide.

I'm kinda shocked by the comments about Goldeneye - this game will have massive legs over the holidays I would imagine and has come with very little hype but some great reviews. A 20k debut before Christmas is strong and should probably stay flat or increase next week.

People need to remember that games released around the holidays on Nintendo systems have completely different sales patterns to HD games which open big and drop away more quickly.

I guess you missed the last 4 comments :P but only 20k? Are the sales really UK centric? Either way, it'll fare far better in America.

I assume he means 20K in the UK alone.

Edit: Judging by the numbers leaked last week ~20K is what 13th on all formats should mean.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Yes, 20k for UK alone, will be more like 40-50k for Europe but I can definitely see a couple of million in 12 months if not more.

wow so it will destroy COD (Wii) in sales

Good!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

i noticed the price of games were expensive today in the shops, the deals had mostly gone and alot were £45 like SW TFU in game and gamestation anyway, have to wait a few weeks until they do their £20 deals which they usually do to shift some just before xmas

Excellent for Goldeneye!! Did not expect that, given that goldeneye was mostly big in the US... Wii should see a massive boost this week too with WSR and especially NSMB rising. probably > 30k in UK alone.

Other than that, we're all waiting for next week to see CoD and kinect's impact... this is gonna be big!

ioi you could give us a hint of what to expect from Kinect ;)

You dont think that there is any chance that the early sales had a good deal to do with Nintendo faithful Nostalgia purchases?   If that is the case I would say that the sales are lukewarm at best.  Especially in UK where I think they would eat 007 games up.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Goldeneye alone has outsold all versions of Blood Stone combined. O_O
