Grabriel becomes Dracula and the sequel is in moder times O_O

I couldn't figure out how to do a spoiler tag so I left a gap.  So yes Dracula is technically in this game.

Still this ending makes me sad cause after all Gabriel went through he ends up the Lord of Shadow, even after his redemption, seems kinda sucky and a cop out.  I mean I'd rather Dracula had been Dracula and he be the ultimate guy who played everyone even Satan, and have Patrick Stewart's character (Can't remember his name) have been in league with Dracula the whole time.  And I'm seriously not liking modern times, if I wanted modern day apocalypse I'd go play Darksiders (Which was quite enjoyable).  I want a gothic, medieval, fantasy setting which this Castlevania barely provided.  But that's me personally.  Another question why is Disolitude banned?  Was he trolling this game that much? (He really trolled this game hard)

If you click his profile, you'll see why he was banned. It was harsh, but oh well.

OT: Hmm...so Dracula still is in the game, only you're him...still the fact that you're saying Castlevania barely provided the "Castlevania" feel of gothic, medieval, fantasy is what I feared the minute I saw the game.

I saw his profile he logged on 3 minutes ago... but yeah like it was there the setting, especially the first stage, but then they went full fantasy on everything.  The biggest problem was the lack of goth.  Like would it have been so hard to through a few graveyards in the middle of the night?  And when you go kill the Vampire lord you're pretty much stuck in her castle, but her castle isn't impressive looking.  Thing that kinda pissed me off was after the credits and you go to Dracula and you see his dwelling, it's exactly what the entire game should have been.  Like the first scene and the end scene should have been the style of the game.  Instead they went with this fantasy setting that wasn't medievil, or gothic.  Oh well I guess I'll just go replay Medievil, they got it right.  Though ultimately I don't think the game was bad, it's just that it got repetitive fast and they just made some levels way to long.

Oh...he got unbanned. Well, he was banned for bringing the PS3 into a topic about the XBL increase (something like that).

And regarding the game, so you'd say that vampire lord's castle is kind of like Curse of Darkness in regards to the bland level design?

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Um I ain't gonna lie I only played through maybe 3-4 stages of Chronicles, about a half hour of Symphony of the Night, a few hours of Lament of Darkness, about 10 minutes of the original and I played through all of Order of Ecclesia so I'm not really the person to comment, especially not having played Curse of Darkness, but from what I remember about the art in Lament of Darkness and what I was playing, the castles are about as bland in Lament of Darkness as they are in Lords of Shadows, except with prettier graphics.  Like the castle was the closest to the Castlevania style cause there's a few labs, libraries adn such it's just before that for about 6 hours you're in this fantasy setting that's very off and filled with too much light.  The area with the Lycans should have been in complete darkness at night with the moon out and in abandoned villages or something.  Instead you get well here's some links to IGN with some screens

The early part of the game was pretty much like this:

http://ps3.ign.com/dor/objects/14275422/castlevania-lords-of-shadow/images/castlevania-lords-of-shadow-20090604104635922.html

that's just concept art cause I couldn't find any good in game screens but they get very close to this concepts lighting and atomsphere.

This is pretty much the interior of the castle:

http://ps3.ign.com/dor/objects/14275422/castlevania-lords-of-shadow/images/castlevania-lords-of-shadow-20100819104448059.html

like the interior varies but that's the overall architecture.  Like it's goth, but it's lacking something and it's a bit bland.

I think they should have skipped the ruins  and do villages that probably would have made me happier with the art style.  Especially with the Lycans, like the first first 1/3 of the game was with werewolves, middle was vampires (wish they used a few succubus' instead of the ugly vampires that they used repeatedly) and the end was zombies and ghosts (this last part was very much like the first part of the game in terms of style).  So the game started out strong with a full moon and a village, but right after you leave that village it's day and you're in a bunch of ruins for the bulk of the first part.

LOL well you tell Disolitude to stay away he kinda has to as hes banned but even then I think I hate Lords of Shadow being called a Castlevania game as much as he does.

On another note I want to know what was bad about it since I didn't beat it just play for a little while, just put a spoiler tag for everyone that doesn't want to know.

If you hate that this one's called Castlevania, you're gonna loathe the sequel :)

It's not a Castlevania in my eyes its a serviceable action game that has the Castlevania name tacked on so it wouldn't be sent to its death sales wise.  Nothing about it says Castlevania the game isn't even about Dracula he doesn't even show up, *spoiler* the final boss is Satan for petes sake!

*spoiler*

Dracula is at lord of shadows and its a she also dracula isn't the final boss she's one of the 3 lord of shadows.

*spoiler*

Ah really? I was glancing at the guide just to check out the bosses and went WTF when the final boss was Satan

GIMONGOUS SPOILERSSSSS!

Gabriel Belmont is Dracula and the sequel will be set in modern times.

WHAT?!?!?!

*hey guys if you couldn't tell by now this all has spoilers!*

RAGE QUIT!!! FUCK THIS SHIT! No seriously, number one what the hell is a Belmont doing becoming Dracula, number two we've already had a modern times Castlevania it was called Aria of Sorrow, number three because of that game we've already established Dracula is dead and had to reincarnate in Soma, number four for the hell of it a "combat cross" (dumbest name ever) is not a GOD DAMN WHIP the sacred Belmont whip is just a regular leather whip FFS!

Sorry so much of this has made me snap.

Well Lords of Shadows was said numerious times to be outside of the main series' timeline and in its own universe.  Though Belmont becoming Dracula wasn't my problem, the god damn modern times was, I mean really?  Was that necessary?

lol everything has to be modern now didn't you get the memo?  Modern warfare, Darksiders, Fallout, Assassins Creed (it's leading up to a modern day finale), Battlefield Bad Company, Bionic Commando, I could keep going but I'm gonna stop there

You mean if there is a sequel.  I wouldn't keep my hopes too high after how it's sold. :P

I also wouldn't be surprised if "Lords of Shadow II" or whatever just dropped the CV brand.  Most series fans seem to object to it being a CV game, and honestly I think the game might've done better had it kept itself an original IP.  Most people seem to like it, but most people seem to agree it really isn't "Castlevania".
