games and price is a standard so i am not talking about those too

i am talking about features

Games and price may be a "standard" but Sony hasn't shown any real dedication to it.

To beat the 3DS they need to focus on games for everyone. Not just the "hardcore" crowd. While CoD is played by hardcore and casuals alike, it doesn't attract the girls, adults, and little kids. Without focusing on attracting everyone the PSP has no chance to beat the 3DS regardless of features that it has.

well isn't that why the psp phone is being made?

I think sony is planning on putting out two devices for both markets, psp2 for the hardcore and psp phone for the casual

edit: that second video was awesome

What kind of innovative technology do you expect? The PSPhone seems like a good successor; a smartphone with a lot of utilities, a lot of interesting games, good graphics, good resolution dual analog and a touch screen, e reasonable price... sounds good to me. It's the iphone for gamers, actaually a quite different thing from a 3DS which is a play-only console.

It needs a unique value that people can't get from either the 3DS or current smartphone platforms.

Yeah, I don't know what, either.

Those who think OLED is a killer feature have been letting buzz get the better of them. The latest OLED displays fail to outperform the latest LCD displays in many respects, including brightness and power usage:

It can't. DS and psp tend to have a different install base.

yes cause the latest OLED's in phones aren't that good

i am talking about OLED like the one that SONY put for $2000 2 years ago and the other transparent OLED which you can adjust the brightness and please don't start on the price as thats not what i am discussing but the tech quality

double post

It needs to have something the 3ds doesn't that the masses actually give a damn about it.

What could it be?

The games and price are the main factors as it is, since it is the backbone of the next psp.

Good PORTABLE Games.

I dont think ahandheld console has had a fully robust online gaming yet. If it can at least match psn in online gaming then it will be good. But damn what else could PSP2 have?? The secon video you posted way very cool and woul e awesome if sony did something like that with psp2.

I personally just want a super powerful portable gaming system. Give me graphics like the xbox 360 and ps3. Good games at launch (i think agito 13 should launch with psp2) and dual analog.

Nintendo games dont really appeal to me so im not too interested in the 3ds.

It needs to be a Nintendo.
