games and price is a standard so i am not talking about those too

i am talking about features

Games and price may be a "standard" but Sony hasn't shown any real dedication to it.

To beat the 3DS they need to focus on games for everyone. Not just the "hardcore" crowd. While CoD is played by hardcore and casuals alike, it doesn't attract the girls, adults, and little kids. Without focusing on attracting everyone the PSP has no chance to beat the 3DS regardless of features that it has.

sony haven't shown dedication to games?????????

they do very well on PS3 and did very well on PSP,it just went down after piracy on PSP took over

for price, yeah they always have been overpricing their products in the recent years but htye have been overpricing cause htey released an expensive tech, even with the big price they lost money initailly on PS2,PS3,PSP.

they need to focus on games but they need some new kind of interaction and technology not just the game itself and i am asking what tech that needs to be to push games to the next interactive level.

Compelling price point

Great games

Some innovations that set it apart from the 3DS

oh comeon darth

price and games is always there, talk about something else

and what those innovations you talk about need to be

Ok ok I'll think.....

Possible Innovations:

- Robust online gaming in a big way.......I don't know if 3DS will have PS360 quality online gaming....but if they can make PSP2 have that its a good thing.

- Touch screen on the back can be interesting....something different, could lead to new gameplay positibilities

Now any more innovations will result in it being way too expensive.

you jackass(just kidding)

you didn't give any input

that back touchscreen idea is from the PSP2 dev comments rumour

and the online is the same thing we have been discussing

how will any more innovation make it too expensive?

touchscreens are pretty cheap so this not addd anything and online is more of a software thing backed by a 3G or 4G chip phones already use

there would be no innovation this way

It needs the ability to play PS2 games exactly how the PSP can play PS1 games.

Sony would also need to do a much better job of publishing PS2 games, than they have done with PS1 classics.

This would be huge and a good step towards being competative.

Games are the only answer.

Games will be the only thing that matters.

Dual Analogue and full PSN support.  Can you imagine playing Peace Walker with trophy support and full infastructure mode for coop?

An astonishing beautiful large screen. Crisp, clear, large. Must be at least as large as the 3DS top screen, preferably 720p capable, but i've started to budge a little on this, since it just might be asking too much on a screen smaller than 7 inches.

Dual analog stick.

Uses either proprietary flash for games or secure SD/Sony Memory stick cards for games. Though I plan on strictly using digital download options.

And yes, full PSN support.

Other than that I just don't see much possible 'innovation'. People can claim that 3D or touch screen is innovative, but I think its crap junk and a waste of time.

Just having a powerful, portable, reasonably priced, supported gaming system not cluttered by useless gimmicks and nintendo childish handholding would be a mega hit for me.

A warrior keeps death on the mind from the moment of their first breath to the moment of their last.

It needs an alternate reality where the DS didn't butthurt the PSP.

1. Good games

2. Oled

3. Trophies and bigger integration with stationary PS

PROUD MEMBER OF THE PSP RPG FAN CLUB

i am likely going to buy a psp2 depending on price and games. it needs an affordable price, good tech, good games, and monster hunter. and the icing on the cake would be a bioware game.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good
