3/10
Certainly a better movie than The Phantom Menace, but still bad.
I did smile like an idiot when Yoda pulled out his light saber, though.

It's my fifth favourite Star Wars movie, to put it nicely.
Really, it wasn't bad, because it's still Star Wars. In fact, it's actually good in parts - those parts being the parts filled with violent CGI goodness rather than the poor attempt at a story. Much, much, much better than Phantom Menace, but nowhere near the standards set by the original trilogy, or even Episode 3.
6.5/10
The Good:
-Christopher Lee as Count Dooku worked very well in parts.
-Palpatine was acted very well.
-Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan was as awesome as ever.
-Some fantastic battle scenes, with much better CGI than before.
-Kamino is beautifully rendered, and the clone army is suitably impressive.
-The fight with Jango Fett is fantastic.
-Mace Motherf***ing Windu.
-CGI Yoda.
The Bad:
-Creepy paedophilic sexual tension between Padmé and Anakin. Really, that whole relationship is just utter shit, and for some reason, it's one of the main focuses of the movie.
-Jar Jar Binks. Again. Reduced role, though, which is nice.
-Hayden Christensen is incapable of putting any intonation in his voice or placing the correct emphasis on words, and ends up sounding like a complete moron.
-Most pathetic ending to a Star Wars movie, and perhaps one of the most pathetic endings to any movie, ever.
- The story is really quite cringeworthy in places.
-Count Dooku is just about the least intimidating person in the entire franchise. Padme Amidala is more intimidating. Not to say he was a bad character, just a really bad Sith Lord.
2/10. Only marginally better than episode one which i gave 1/10. Almost every aspect of the film is just plain bad with the exception of maybe the music.
After the fantastic Episode 1 it was a disappointment for me.
I expected something much better.
My problem wasn't with the action scenes, music, plot or anything of the sort.
My problem is with the love story and dialogue used to convey it. The ENTIRE notion of anakin going to the dark side is based on his love for Padme.....there HAD to be some chemistry here between Anakin and Padme....but there was nothing between these characters.
This movie HAD to have a compelling love story.....and it didn't which hurts many many things not only in this movie BUT in EPISODE 3 as well!
They had to make the audience feel like it was worth it for these characters to literally "live a lie"....they didn't do this. No-one in the audience was rooting for anakin & padme to be together like say they rooted for rose & jack to be together (Titanic people for those who don't know).
But the whole point of this movie had to be that!!
Yet everything was right there......both these characters got an excellent love music theme......arguably the best in the business (Thank you John Williams):
But all of this means nothing when the dialogue is so hoooooorrrrrribbbbbbleeeeee!
I was what 11 or 12 when I watched the film and the dialogue still felt too corny for me!!!
Key scenes in this movie were ruined because of an extremely cheesy sentence, the following scene for example:
This scene was actually pretty good....it lets us know of the huge moral dilemna the characters face.....everything was going well till Padme had to say, "I truly, deeply love you".....and the trance is broken......the scene is ruined. Its like someone kicking your sand castle on a beach.
I was actually starting to think.....OMG they did 1 love scene right and Hayden was acting convincingly....but noooo she had to end with a terribly corny, "I truuly...deeplyyy...love you".....!
___________________________
Love scenes aside it was actually a very entertaining movie.....the bits with Obi-Wan were really really interesting....seeing those clones was awesome.
Yoda's fight with doku was the most epic thing EVAR at that point....the jedi battle in the arena was AWESOME.....especially Mace Windu.
Seeing Palpatine's plot starting to come into act was epicly awesome!
A very good film.....but the main thing the film had to show to the audience wasn't done well.
Still
8/10
So far, the film seems to be ever so slightly more popular than The Phantom Menace, which is really no achievement at all.
5/10
Better than Phantom Menace but still not good. At least it had the clone wars and more action.

More popular than walking out the theater.

Cuss they are both fucking garbage!
3/10.
It's an awful movie. But it's not quite as awful as The Phantom Menace. Plus, I enjoyed Yoda whipping out his lightsaber, even if he did suddenly start ridiculously leaping around the place...
