My No. 1 Game (maybe it seems like a clichee choice, but I don't care):
1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
When a game recieves the type of acclaim this game has, you have certain expectations from it. It seldom happens that you finally play and say "it is that good", but in the case of Zelda Ocarina of Time it really is that good!
A guy who lived in my building had a N64 and got this game a couple of months after it came out. I heard him say how awsome it was, so I went to see what all the fuss was about. The game looked amazing, but he wouldn't let me play.
Fastforward a couple of years later when I buy his old N64 and a couple of the games he had left, including this one. I rush home happy that I could finally get to play this game (in the meantime I keep hearing about all the praise this game was recieving), while also being nervous that I'd fin the game outdated and that I missed my chance to really enjoy it fully. Luckily my fears turned out to be unfounded.
Other than the graphics, this game hardly seemed outdated when I played it then, and even today if I pop it in my ancient N64 I can still have a blast with it. Never have I seen a game that feel like everything regarding it is just right. The art style, the musci, the story, the amazing revolutionary gameplay, there's simply nothing that's wrong with this game.
There's no feeling comparable to riding horseback on Hyrule field, exploring the game's world, fighting monsters in the dungeons, or defeating the game's epic bosses.
If there's one video game that deserves to be called a "timeless classic", making you feel nostalgia while you play it, while also seeming like it was released just yesterday, then this game is the one.
This gem never gets old, so bring on the 3DS remake Nintendo!

1. Metroid Prime - Gamecube
I could write pages upon pages of essays about this game, and never once do it justice. I could sing it's praises for hours, and still be doing it a disservice. I could post a thousand screenshots from this game, and never once capture it's essence. You just have to play it yourself, to understand the brilliance of it.
There is not a single thing I would change about this game. Not the soundtrack, which contains some of the best music in any entertainment medium. Not the bosses, that are all excellently designed and a blast to kill. (Well, except for the Parasite Queen) Not the story, that manages to be deep, intriguing and immersive without alienating a bulk of it's fan-base with an overload of cutscenes. (Unlike a certain other game I could name.) And definitely not the intricate and compelling world, that is Tallon IV, which is endlessly more fascinating than any of the generic dark-haired, clear-skinned, hypocritically violent, self-righteous white-boy protagonists, that the industry is saturated with nowadays.
My vocabulary is not large enough to properly express how much I love this game, so I'll just conclude with this: If somebody walked up to me on the street and said: "Metroid Prime sucks", I would punch him in the nose.
And now, the end is here... And so we face, the final curtain...
1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
OMG! He put the predictable game at #1! How could he!!!!!!1111!!!!!111!!!1 Even Link is astonished!
The answer is, quite easily, because when I started this list, I could not think of any argument for any other game being placed above this masterpiece. The funny thing is, I might not have ended up playing it but for a bizarre twist of fate. The game was delayed, it was approaching Christmas 1998, and I wanted to ask for it, but I thought it wouldn't make its release date, so I chose something else instead. I honestly cannot remember what this something else was now, but whatever it was, that ended up being delayed, OoT was released, and I got it that Christmas. Thus followed one of the best Christmas breaks I ever had...
This game is so good that I pity those who missed out on it at the time, who went back to playing it on the say of friends years later, but who did not feel the same impact that they might have had they played it on release. And those people do exist, as unfortunate as they are. There are always a few on every forum like this one.
There are so many moments that make this a worthy #1, but the one that has always stuck with me as the single best moment in video game history was after you complete the first part of the game, and you're going to Hyrule Castle. The moment you step out on to Hyrule Field, and it opens up in front of you, and you realise just how big this game is as the music kicks in... That did it for me right there.
Ultimately, OoT reminds me what gaming should be about. The thrill of adventure, the joy of exploration, and the emotional investment in the story (and the fact that I still hum the odd Ocarina tune every now and then some 12 years later). So many other games try to do this, but none do it like OoT. And that's why it's my number 1.

N64 - 7

Wii - 7
PSX - 5
PS2 - 3
PS3 -1
GBC - 1
GBA - 4
DS - 5
DC - 2
PC - 2
1. God of War III (PS3)
I don't know what the guys at Sony Santa Monica eat, drink or smoke to create such an epic game; but whatever it is, they shouldn't stop consuming it.
Before its' release, I was incredible hyped for it and I couldn't stop watching the Vengeance trailer again and again. I didn't think it was possible, but they improved over God of War II. The presentation is fantastic, hell... I make it short: everything in this game is fantastic. Oh, and the boss battles; if I had to make a Top10 with the best boss fights in videogames, God of War III would probably take half of the spots, or more.
Anyway, God of War III is amazing! If you like epic games then you have to play God of War III.
