Maybe, but but can you please curse out SE for teasing us with that damn PS3 tech demo?  You can't blame people for hoping after that very mean thing that SE did lol.  And also, this would be the first 3d remake correct?  Perhaps that's a different beast, I'm sure the PSP2 would have to get consideration for that too.  Do you see a lot of multiplats between the consoles?  I think a good amount might happen...

You have a point there; if they're not going to create something FFVII related on the PS3, they shouldn't be showing FFVII related in a promo video because it does create such expectations.

But Square also made a PS2 demo of FFVIII, and nothing happened from there. So to expect something from this is to forget that past thing.

Perhaps.  All I'm saying is that for most people who care a handheld is not the desired system.  I'm sure any poll would verify this.

Well who says both can't happen? RE got a remake in the GC, but afterwards still got a port on the DS.

You mean the DS got a port of the original right? Well if they want to make two new different versions of FF7 that's fine, I just figured they wouldn't wanna do that lol.  If you mean just porting the original to handhelds, the PSP already has that. :(

More systems means more money. Duh.

True, but I don't see FF XIII on the DS.  Sometimes devs don't whore out their games to every system for the hell of it, especially when the handheld versions are often shit, gimped, or a completely different experience.

How would that be whoring out? PSN DS would be porting to two systems, which would not be whoring out in any way.

I'm just saying that a lot of times companies don't do that even if they could.  And if it only has to be on one, I'd rather it not be a handheld.

Poor list including so many copy and paste series as well as re-releases, tweaked or not.

Kind of agree.  The games will mostly be good, but Ocarina at #2? Come on, don't make it so obvious what Nintendo does constantly.

Yeah I see some people have leapt in defence against my comment but there really was no need to outside of their personal insecurities.

I said nothing of quality of the games but honestly, OoT release on N64, then GC, then GC again but tweaked, then Wii, and now redone on 3DS.  I honestly cannot see the anticipation for it after so many re-releases, it'll be same story and same game, just looking better.

I've seen this argument tossed around before but some people seem to forget that it has been more than 10 years since OoT came out on N64. The GC versions were part of a promotion deal for Wind Waker and the VC version is obviously not a retail release which limits the game's availability to a certain extent.

There are a lot of gamers out there that started playing games on either last gen or this gen that never got to experience this game not to mention people who just didn't play it. Will I be getting it? I dunno maybe if it has enough added goodies for people that have already beaten the previous version. This OoT is not really for "us" but for the new gamers Nintendo pulled in with Wii and DS.

Well that's different from whoring out. I was just calling on that point.

Fair enough.  Although the game in question HAS kind of been whored out.  :D lol

I'd prefer a plot remake more than a graphical one. I mean that Shinra shouldn't just be the chaotic evil corporation. And the environmental message shouldn't just get thrown out as the main threat because Sephiroth turns into yet another god wanabee as the main villain.

Yeah, I feel bad for SE in a way because nothing they do will make that game perfect.  Their best shot at satisfying the most people is making it basically identical plotwise while somehow adding non-plot changing extras.  Something.

But some will complain if it's exactly the same as the old one, and some will complain if it changes anything, mostly plot wise like you want.

:(

Well Captain Planet villainy is just wrong. Fans who want that need to look up how characterization works.

But surely if it isn't aimed for the original fans then it is just going to be a dated N64 game for new players?

RE remake was also aimed at series fans.  And it came quicker, with more rereleases in between.

RE remake was a lot more of a change than what this zelda is said to be.  RE1 was not ported consistantly over a 10 year span either.  If you missed RE1 on the PS1/Saturn/PC release which al happened about the same time then you had REmake on GC a few years later.

OoT had N64, GC, GC again, Wii.  Note the last one is still meant to be a current gen release.  There was no GC gen version of RE1.

Right... because there wasn't even 10 years before they pumped out a remake...
