RE remake was also aimed at series fans.  And it came quicker, with more rereleases in between.

RE remake was a lot more of a change than what this zelda is said to be.  RE1 was not ported consistantly over a 10 year span either.  If you missed RE1 on the PS1/Saturn/PC release which al happened about the same time then you had REmake on GC a few years later.

OoT had N64, GC, GC again, Wii.  Note the last one is still meant to be a current gen release.  There was no GC gen version of RE1.

Right... because there wasn't even 10 years before they pumped out a remake...

  • Resident Evil (PS) 1996
  • Resident Evil (PC) 1997
  • Resident Evil (SS) 1997
  • Resident Evil: Director's Cut (PS) 1997
  • Resident Evil: Director's Cut: Dual Shock Version (PS) 1998
  • Resident Evil (GC) 2002
  • Resident Evil: Deadly Silence (DS) 2006
  • Resident Evil (PSC) 2006
  • Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil (Wii) 2008
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) 1998
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time / Master Quest (GC) 2002
  • The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition (GC) 2003
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (VC) 2007
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (3DS) 2011

... I'm not seeing how timeline really favors RE1.  That shit was milked dry, and way faster than OOT has been.
