True cooperative play:
Most MMORPGs foster competitiveness amongst its users. The person getting the killing blow on a monster will receive the reward, which can allow other players to steal your rewards. When you meet another player, you have to be in the same party to help each other out, and if you don't team up, you won't both be rewarded.

In Guild Wars 2, every player is an ally. If you are fighting a monster, anyone can come help, and you will both be rewarded fully for your efforts.

This right here is my problem with it and I cant believe any company is retarded enough to make this mistake. Why the hell should everyone get loot? What if the chob in question only did 10% of the damage that most of the others did? Why does he deserve any rewards for being such a scrub? That right there is a huge dealbreaker, and honeslty I hope they remove it.

Why? He wont steal your share. To me this contributes to cooperation. Also for newbs to MMOs like me, it makes the game a bit friendlier.

Because you havent earned the right to have the same gear as others. If youw want the same gear, get good or quit.

Says who? You?

Well, its not your game. So they get to create the rules they want.

You don like it, dont play it. Simple as that.

Go play on a private server if you want your gear, don't ruin games with a lot of potential because of scrubs who need to be pampered and held by their hands.

Why shouldn't everyone get loot if they make an honest contribution? And would you meassure someones contribution to a fight by the damage they do? It's not about getting better loot than everyone else, it's about everyone having fun participating, and what loot others get doesn't hurt you in any way.

Already knew it all but still amazing to read again :D

Again, please explain to me why what someone else will get (and wont affect what you get) bothers you so much

If they are a DPS class then yes, theur contribution is damage, healers adn tanks have other measures. Furthermore, do you not realize the main draw of an RPG? It's to bet get better gear and be better than the guy that sucks compared to you. But if you really want to get into it, PVP. Having the same gear, scrubs and pros alike, is just terrible TERRIBLE for PVP. I still can't fathom why some developer would do something so stupid as to just give away good gear to every lowly scrub who gets it.

Speak for yourself. When I play, I would help anyone get the same gear I get. Why must it be competitive? Why cant it be cooperative?

I play it because I enjoy it. If you enjoy it too, if someone else's gear is as good as yours or not shouldnt annoy you.

In PvP, you might have a point. But maybe the developers have thought of something to adjust for that. Lets ask Rainbird (he's their offcial spokesperson on VGhartz )

It is about cooperation. You and your guildmates cooperate into getting good gear that the scrubs that cooperate can't get unless they learn to play better. If they want better gear there are many ways to get better, one of which is to ask the better players.

To me, GW2 will simplify that. You wont have to always depend on others to get good loot.

I can see how to you that will encourage people to not be so involved in Guilds and such, but to me its about playing with others not just for loot.

So I see it as pros dont lose their loot, and its easier for noobs

ArenaNet have already proved you wrong with the first Guild Wars games, since they have excellent PvP, and with everyone having access to the same gear. The Guild Wars games have never been about having the better equipment, it's about refining your own skills as a player, and Guild Wars 2 will improve on that concept with more focus being laid on your movement and cross profession combos.
