Vanquish isn't for guys who play games only once. Nor is it for people who don't like the value proposition of arcade games. If you're the kind of guy who likes playing games and having fun at learning the mechanics and getting better and looking amazing while doing it, then Vanquish is the best game released in a while.

Vanquish and games like it ( Bayonetta) are packaged the way they are without a proper mechanic for longevity. Games intentionally made to last do last by volume in sales and quality this generation. One must be hardcore to truly play these one player titles over and over again. Most people who get Vanquish will find it to be a really great game, but not worth $60. The same goes for the force unleashed. Of course everything has to do with the consumers individual opinion, but on an objective standpoint from time put into the game its blatantly obvious that Vanquish is the weakest link out of the 3 games based on forms of intrinsic value to todays moderate consumer. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Vanquish demo even more than Enslaved, but seriously, Enslaved has the solid story, decent gameplay and longer hours of play even though it isn't by much. That tips the scales.

I'm sorry, but hta'ts not objective.

As I said before: the value proposition made by Vanquish is that it's like an arcade game. It'si mmensely replayable because it is fun to replay, even without the dangling carrot of further incentive. I never pretended that Vanquish is for everyone (it's not; it's for the hardest of the hardcore and the oldest of the oldschool) but saying that there is an objective standard by which Enslaved is superior is fallacious. Story doesn't matter in Vanquish, hours of play takes a backseat to the fact that it's the most replayable game since God Hand, and it's got the most pitch-perfect gameplay of any shooter I've ever played on a console.

I never stated Enslaved was superior. I stated on levels of intrinsic value for the moderate consumer Enslaved has more to offer even though I like Vanquish more. That is objective. My subjective opinion is that I like Vanquish more, despite its short timespan.

You haven't qualified "intrinsic value" in an objective way. It would be just as easy - and just as valid - to argue that Vanquish's intrinsic value is higher because it is just more fun to play than Enslaved is (or might be; I haven't played Enslaved). And that's still not objective. Value propositions and necessary hour investments are not analogous.

Lords of Shadow isn't a castlevania game. Think God of War... If you haven't played Castlevania for the last 20 years and have no expectations and don't mind the fact they threw out everything that makes Castlevania awesome...you may enjoy Lords of shadow.

Just be aware, the game is repetitive, unoriginal, has really annoying static camera and has one of the most boring and depressing stories you'll see in a videogame. Looks great though...

Enslaved I rented and I got bored with it in 2 hours hence I returned it so I can't provide a worthwile opinion.

Vanquish has a pretty terrible story as well, but it knows it and has fun with it. It however rapes both of those hack and slash games sideways in terms gameplay, and if you want to "play" your games, I highly recommend Vanquish. The upside down monorail sequence in Vanqish which lasts for 3 minutes is more fun than anything you'll find in castlevania or enslaved and their super long gameplay glory. And no pattrick stewart narration was needed...

You also forgot to add Shadow of the colossus as a comparison to Castlevania. Gow Sotc.

I'd say castlevania, since it's the longest of the 3 and probably the most underrated game of the year(people can't see past it's GoW similarities or that fact that it's a 3D castlevania game) vanquish would be a close 2nd, that game is freakin EPIC, very short, but EPIC!!! on my third playthrough!!!

Castlevania was a nice surprise. The game really impressed me on a lot of points. It has a lot more replay value compared to the other two I think (didn't play Enslaved yet), maybe not on long term though.

Vanquish is what I pictured the Covenant invasion on Reach. Bungie should be ashamed (still love Reach though!!!). I love arcade style games so I see myself replaying the campaign over and over again for the better high score. Just need to find a reason to do it nowadays though... so many stuff happening in my life right now.

Enslaved... well I really loved the demo. Looks like it plays a lot like Uncharted, which is a good thing. The story sounds nice too. I'll rent it soon for sure.

I'd rank them like this for now:
1. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (just because of replay value);
2. Vanquish (love it);
3. Enslaved (need to play it).

Hopefully you make the right choice! And have fun!

*EDIT: Oh damn, you already bought Enslaved. o_O

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

People have been saying that about Castlevania... but I have a dark secret, which is that I never played Shadow of the Colosuss. I know...its embarassing, considering the praise it gets.

I kinda refuse to believe that first titan fight in LoS is what SotC was like though. ITs all very cinematic and shit with the camera shaking and the "AAAAAAAA" choir soundtrack...but gameplay is like...not...there. I didnt get to see the other titan fights in LoS so maybe they get better...

there all genuanly amazing games but enslaved cant come close to the other 2 :/ if u have to chose between vanquish and CLofS then i go for vanquish.

Yeah i know my spelling sucks but im dysgraphic so live with it :3

Conegamer - I say that the PS3 will beat the DS next week in Japan  (for hardware sales) Forfeit is control over others avatar for 1 week.

castlevania is easily the best imo. u dont need to play any previous games in the series

1.castlevania

2.enslaved

3.vanquish

castlevania is close to 15 hrs to beat, enslaved is around 7 hrs, and vanquiah i beat under 4 hours.

Castlevania! I loved all the videos and the demo.
