Forums - Sales - I think I have found a legitimat reason for Sony's overstuffed ship numbers

> Where did you heard about these shortages?

A) From shop owners, personally. I and others came in and asked for Move controllers or bundles and they say they are out of stock and will be for weeks.

B) Go to amazon.de (Germany) or amazon.co.uk (Britain) and search for Move. You will not find any which is actually shipped by Amazon. But only Amazon Marketplace sellers (third-party companies) which seem to have some Moves in stock, but they chare a HUGE premium for that!

I was lucky to get my starter pack directly from amazon.de for 51 Euro, the cheapest current offer is 80 Euro!!!

If this is not shortage...

Remember: I was speaking about Europe, and in particular Germany. On amazon.com (USA) you can get the starter pack directly from Amazon because they have it in stock. So there may well be some not-so-perfect distribution.

A) What region do you live in? I live in Canada and have not seen these shotages at all. I've only seen surplus.

B) Well look at PS3 sales in EMEAA vs Americas regions. 140 k versus 80 k. Guess Move just isn't popular on this side of the Atlantic lol! Surprising that Sony planned shipments so poorly (your region having a shortage, mine having a surplus).

Guess we agree on poor distribution as the issue?

lol do tell something

How did you suddenly equate your situation in Canada (your city) to a surplus in 'NA' region?

and Sony have said they had to revamp production twice now...definitely not cuz of Canada I'm sure of it.

For a moment let's just say there IS a surplus in whole of Canada too. It's just how it is, it's a new product. You won't know which regions will have most demand until you test the waters a bit. That's just how it works, they ship on estimates and sometimes estimates need adjusting

This goes for ALL new products

I live in Canada too and I don't see a surplus.  I see proper stock cause I'll see them sold out one day and in stock the next.

WTF ?! Why is everyone ignoring my posts ??

Is my low post count or because I talk about the EMEA region while everyone is from North America ?

This is discrimination !

It's the low post count most likely, that's why I don't post around here cause no one cares. lol

Amazon.com doesn't cover USA? Also doesn't VGChartz themselves have articles saying Move is selling half of what they shipped in Americas?

Pretty sure there is a surplus in the Americas region, not just Canada.

Using that same comment back, since when does a shortage on Amazon for UK and Germany, and your local store mean a shortage worldwide? Wasn't that the opening post to this debate??

As for distribution, still shipping double the demand in all of americas and barely meeting demand in EMEAA. I mean Sony has people who research this, they must have done a poor job on research.

What stores/websites? I've never seen a store been sold out, but to be honest I haven't been paying attention. Some of my local friends who work at Best Buy/Future Shop say they are stacked (locally).
