Forums - Sales - Is Gran Turismo 5 Actually Coming in 2010?

Sony is also starting advertising for GT5 which stuff like Schick Razors (Started 1-2 days ago I believe) among others.

The start of the advertisement its a good sign, or a terrible error/slip. Do this ads tell something about release?

Nothing is confirmed yet but Sony Australia had a GT5 competition going that was supposed to end Nov 4 (the original date) that is now ending Dec 9 (which falls on the same weekday as the previous date). I'm pretty sure it's coming this year.

I think it is pretty much guaranteed for this year. They only bumped it back to avoid Kinect and CoD launches.

But I REALLY wanted to see how this performs on Black Friday >:( Sony could have had bundles and everything.

I'm not doubting that.  I also think it will be the best and slickest racing simulator out there.  I just think that the sales will suffer if they don't give people a big enough window to buy the game in time for Xmas.

GT5 will sell well, don't worry. People will get 2 Ps3's in order to play GT5, it will be that good!

Then those people will need 4 jobs! O_o

Yes they will......but they will need 5 jobs to buy a PSP2.....so GT5 is basically leading up to PSP2.

Lets see it as a way to prepare the world for the dominance of PSP2

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Half the Wii's line-up is from last year? Then why add them?

Still selling well. The front page was meant to be a comparison of software that is still big / or will be big. Wii sw stays big for years if you nail it.

edit: oh ok nevermind

Holiday sales are important. Having a good holiday season can add millions in sales for top sellers. It's usually second tier games that get slaughtered against big titles like MW/COD. But for the top sellers it makes no sense to avoid the holidays.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

I just went to Gamestop's site and the date they have for GT5 is 1/1/2011.

Is there ANY source out there that definitively states that it the game will release in 2010 AFTER it was delayed?

Anybody?

Wishful think all you want, but to be this close to the holiday season and still not inform even RETAILERS of if the game is coming during their most important time of year seems very, VERY suspect.

Lastly, if it DOESN'T release this holiday season, it will still sell well because of what it is.  But this will go down as the worst holiday season ever for new exclusive releases for the PS3.  There is no way to spin that positive.  It WILL affect sales negatively.  And I believe that was The Source's point.

poor Sony

bye bye to black friday sales for sure

and perhaps, bye bye to Xmas sales

I hope GT5 is coming this year

Time to Work !

I have only brought Atelier Rorona as a PS3 exclusive and I might import ToG F before the year ends, so from my point of view the PS3 doesn't have such a great exclusive line-up this holiday, but you are way to selective.

Michael Jackson get's listed for the Wii but not for the others, games line Sonic Colors get listed for the Wii, but Sly Raccoon & Prince of Persia Collection get's excluded from the PS3 list, and then we have things like Just Dance which ussually stop selling once the sequel is released.

On the multiplatform side there is ofcourse Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
