Meaning all sections are now doing well. So you can't say xyz saved its ass when they are all doing well. To put that into some kind of perspective for the last 3 months MS made $5.41 BILLION in PROFIT. That is $1.8 Billion profit a month. Sony on the other hand on their previous results posted a profit of $210m. That is a huge difference in the amounts of profit each company makes.

was there really any need for that? From what I've read its been unanimous praise except the odd post?

2.84 Shipped , 2.8 Sold... VGC has Xbox at 43.9M WW Ms has shipped 44.6 but by end of 2nd October Xbox was at 43.5 i think... So 1M difference seems accurate no ?

Look at all the DAMN CHEDDAR!!!   Holy shit M$ can make some cash...and there was an article a few days ago about how M$ was in danger.  What I find funny is how people love to hype Google, when they are even MORE dependent on Search for revenue, profits, and growth, as compared to M$.  With the launch of WP7 and Kinect, M$ is going to be rocking this holiday season...globally. I might be wrong, but I think Kinect is going to have a bigger dent in EMEA and Japan then many of us suspect.  As for WP7, i don't know what to make of it...M$ isn't putting alot of info and "feelers" out, and hte thing launches in 2 weeks...a bit of a head scratcher.  Regardless, this holiday season is going to see EDD post some record revenues...profits might not be as stronger, since WP7 and Kinect are going to burn alot of cash.  what I don't understand is why M$ isn't launching kinect with tons of promos, rather than spending it on advertising...seems to me if they had a initial rebate plan, like retailers have for new movies and dvds, that would go well with consumers.

Well not quite, their onlines services division is still bleeding money and stuff knows what 'corporate activity' translates to? Business acquisitions??
