Upgrade your PC, or just buy more games for it

Not an option, it's all about the 360 here and now.

A better platform is always an option.

Yes, because everyone has the same exact needs and situation as you!

PC is not the better platform and neither are the PS3 and 360.  It all depends on what the person wants and that is the best platform for them.

That doesn't mean they might not realize there's a better platform out there, but there's no need to be a jerk and make some stupid comment that adds absolutely nothing to the conversation.

I agree.  I mean there's a discussion going on in the Games Forum about buying a PS3 and there's not one post attempting to bash the system or derail the thread like several users are trying to do here.

Oh you are so persecuted. I just wanted to know what games he wanted.

You still haven't read the guy's original post have you?  He was asking for game recommendations and you want to know what games he wants?  Actually come to think of it do you actually read what you're posting because nowhere did you ask him that question.

I asked him why he wanted one, and judging by his OP it seems like the answer is "because." Which is why I have one so I'm certainly not about to say its a dumb reason. But I have buyers remorse from it and if he buys a system without any real reason and without any games already in mind he might get it to.

Sounds to me like you just feel better about yourself if you can cause someone to not buy a 360.

I have given up on even reporting people for doing this shit.  It does pretty much no good when you confront them or report them.  They always give you some bullshit excuse and then get defensive like you have chopped their arm off or something.  The best thing to do is just avoid their comments all together.  Its usually the same 5 or 6 people (or one of their multiple accounts) that does it.

On topic:

I forgot to add Halo 3, ODST and Halo Wars to that cheap list of games.  They are all pretty good and are fairly cheap if you can find them used on ebay or a game store.

I'm not going to answer all your questions, since it's already pretty late you got some good responses, I just wanted to say that you can create up to 5 different Xbox Live Gold 1 month accounts with each brand new 360, so if you don't mind to play online games on different accounts, you basically get 5 months Gold for free.

So I've been thinking about trading my Wii and its games in to reduce the price on a 360S 250GB at GameStop, but as it turns out, I can get a 360 for less than what GameStop offers, even after I trade in all that stuff. So I'm considering buying one right now, and considering it really hard.

But I've got a few questions.

- What comes in the package? A month of Live? A headset?

- What batteries do the controllers use? Do I need to buy battery packs and a charger or something?

- Do I need Gold to buy from marketplace?

- I'm looking for some cheap games, so it would be nice to have old games recommended. I already have my eyes on a few, but it would be nice to get some additional feedback. Online multiplayer is a low priority though.

- I'm really torn on whether to wait for Kinect or not. On one hand, I really want to support it, because I think it has a lot of potential, but there just anything all too exciting right now. And I don't trust games that have been announced, but with no gameplay shown. With Kinect, I need to see gameplay more than ever. And I already have Move and Wii, so I'm not desperate for motion controls (although the voice commands are sweet). I've tried out Kinect Sports and wasn't terribly impressed, though that was probably more down to the game itself than anything else. But getting a bundle would make it much easier to buy into it, with the price reduced by a third (I have a hard time seeing myself paying full price for Kinect as a stand alone product). GAH! Opinions please...

So yeah, thanks ahead.

Buy Gold now before the price goes up, you can get it pretty cheap on amazon and other online stores.

Buy Alan Wake, The Fable games, All three Halo shooters, crackdown, and both gears.

Im also thinking of getting one, now that the slim one's out. if i wait til its bundled with Kinect, my friend who works in Game said he can get me discount on it. schweeeet.

so i say yes. you go get one too, and you can be my first online friend :)

Alright, thanks for the responses everyone. ^.^

I've decided to wait with Kinect, since I'll only be saving about a fourth by buying with the bundle here anyway, and there aren't enough interesting titles coming just yet. I'll wait and find it for cheap some day, I just need more games than Child of Eden to be swayed.

And for the curious, I'm not in doubt about me wanting a 360, I was just in doubt about this being the right time for me to get one.

And I already have rechargable batteries for my Wii, so I'll just stick to those. Maybe I'll get Live if I feel I need it at some point, but the first free month should have my online urges covered for a while.

@ trashleg

I'll gladly be your first online buddy, but I don't know if you'll end up getting your 360 before I do.

I've been highly dissapointed with my 360, traded it in to go part-way for a Wii, may get a PS3 also. I just found the 360 to be lacking in terms of exclusives and the online was terrible (not in that way! All the sweary teenagers for around £40 a year? Dream on!). Unless you LOVE FPS' then I'd reccomend getting a PS3 and keeping your Wii (to cover Wii exclusives and multiplat games) and forget about the 360. The PS3 is MUCH better, Move is looking better than Kinect, the games are better, the online is free, exclusives are looking good, price is coming down etc.

IF you are COMMITED on getting a 360, then wait until the new year and DON'T TRADE IN YOUR WII!!!

I've done it and regretted it greatly. It's not worth it. Trust me.

Hope that helps :)

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

For old games, get Fable 2, Gears 1 & 2 and Halo 3

Dude he wants a 360 so get over it. If you want to troll something go create your own thread. I have buyers remorse with my PS3. See everyone has differing opinions.

To the OP if you aren't sure about Kinect then I'd say hold out on it and just get the 250GB 360. As someone pointed out I don't know what type of games you like but I'd recommend Halo:Reach, Gears of War 1/2, Fable II, III, Alan Wake, Mass Effect 1/2. You should be able to get all of those cheap except for Reach and Fable III which just came out. There are also tons of LIVE arcade games you should check out as well. Limbo and Geometry Wars:Evolved are my favorites.

Also the console comes with a headset and batteries and the HDMI cable is not included you will need to buy one. You can pick one up from Ebay for about $5.
