Forums - Nintendo - Ready at Dawn: "The Wii Novelty is wearing off"

@tomSons  never mind these guys I feel you on "the child's toy aspect" i mean when I walk into a store and see Dora the explorer, family fun night, carnival games, barbie, hanah montana, bratz, imaginz whatever, then I go home turn on WiiWare and see Caterpillar ABCs any logical human mind is going to think "the Wii is mostly for the kiddies" Its not about being manly, it is what it is. I dont know why Wii fans think family friendly is a bad thing and I dont know why they have blinders on and try to act like those games I listed dont exist!!! There out there, if you like to play those do, if not dont. But lets not pretend that people are just making stuff up

´cause there are some  (insert console name)tards that says "Wii IS ONLY for kiddies". That friendly and family Wii image is what I like, but there are other games, not only kiddy games.

I hate "Wii exclusives". Maybe with the PS3 having the same control scheme, maybe we will steal some great Wii exclusives from them, so I feel like my childhood is a bit more fulfilled. I would pick to play DKC revamp if I could, just never on one of them terrible Wii controllers.

You're just contradicting yourself with those controller statements.

Classic Control Pro is a good improvement on the regular Classic controller design. The Wavebird is also good for GC games.

The issue is not wheter the Wii is kid friendly or not. I made fun of a poster who said he really wanted to play Donkey Kong Country Returns, but never will because the Wii is a kids toy. That kind of mindset is, ironically, extremely childish, maybe a kids console is not such a bad idea for this gentleman after all.

@pavolink  ive had Wii for a while you dont have to tell me. Ninty has always had the family vibe thing, when they were trying to shake that they were doing bad (GC). Be true to yourself. Some Wii owners do get mad though.

@spurgeoryan I love the Cube as far as im concerned its the last real console. no overexpensive Bluray crap, no overrated pay for online, no motion control crap that works about half the damn time. Just pure gaming.

@Bong Lover  oh thats why I didnt follow him up on that, i thought it was weird, but in his defense I see Wii owners make that statement too. I want to play X game but will never buy the system becasue im broke, cheap, whatever reason. It works both ways

That is a poor defense indeed. That other people are stupid is a poor exuse to be stupid.

my systems collect dust whether I play them or not. I never understood the collecting dust analogy.

Its the next gen Sony fanboy warcry, they had to find something newer than "LOL Kiddie Console!" to say =P

People got to admit thought that the Wii plus is still not very good. Hopefully the new ones will not only incorporate the whole thing together, but add some more sensitivity like the PS3! ANother problem with the Wii is they have no real controller! If you dont like using the motion on every game you have to deal with classic or gamecube. People didnt like the gamecube.

I've had the opportunity to test Move and Wii Motion plus side by side and can say that they both play equally well, both offer true 1:1 motion. Your notion that WM isn't very good would lead me to believe that you don't like the Move either?

Dear Ready at Dawn, your Okami port was great, but will you please shut up now. Thank you.

Actually, were there not complaints that it actually did not pick up the motion (for making symbols) as well as it should have. In other words, another third-party effort which did not know how to get the most out of the motion controls.

I am not sure which is worse -- another small-time developer carping about the Wii or the attention it receives after the statement has been made.
