I really like Fable, but I have no idea who's pre-ordering the game. The Internet hype is small and according to my anecdotal evidence, no one even knows what a Fable is. Peter must be pre-ordering like crazy.

Smackdown vs Raw bomba....

Fable 3 has been n.1-n.3 in amazon in the last 2 weeks (n.1 in the last week) , n.1 in gamestop/eb games chart in the last 2 weeks and the special edition has been sold out in both these 2 online retailers.

I was never referring to it's sales, only the Internet hype. Forums, podcasts and stuff.

How where you not referring to its sales when you wrote that noone knows about fable, that Peter must be doing the pre-orders e.t.c ??

I was talking more about how the Internet hype was so low in comparison to the high pre-orders. Fallout: New Vegas was being talked about on every podcast, it had heaps of articles up and the forums had been a buzz. I'm not seeing that same reaction to Fable 3, which is weird because of how well it's doing on the charts. I also haven't heard anyone around me talk about Fable, people seem to be more interested in picking up Medal of Honour, Fallout and FIFA. It must be an American thing. The Peter thing was a joke, like ha ha, get it? Obviously you didn't and I don't blame you, it wasn't really that funny.

@Seece, I'm sure you got what I meant but your much more interested in being defensive over something this stupid and supporting such a defensive stance from other forum goers, that your willing to look over an innocent point that someone made. That Ha!! wasn't necessary and I think I made my point well enough.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

I'm not defensive, isn't he the same guy that reviewed Halo Wars on a demo? rofl.

Are you talking about me or the other guy? I've never played Halo Wars.....

If I was wrong in pointing you out, then I'm really sorry.

no Jim Sterling, I'm pretty sure he got bollocked for reviewing Halo Wars based on the demo. I just think when you get a game averaging a certain score, and some nutjob comes along and throws down something quite plainly obviously wrong, it should be disregarded. I swear he's just an attention seeker these days anyway, if you want a decent and fair but harsh site to read reviews, try EDGE!

@GT5

Is that in game?

It doesn't look in game.

Damage physics looks a bit too real to be in game. I'm gonna say it's CGI, but the flame CGI looks really lame.

I knew they had Go-Kart racing, but I hadn't heard about trike racing. Is that the reason for the delay?

well, gg Fable 3 (quite unexpected)

gg Black Ops, I knew it would be a beast outcompeting Reach on Xbox360 alone !

and, well, GT5 ... dont know what to think ...

Time to Work !

Not sure at the surprise around Fable 3.  It's the third in an established series that has seen steady growth in customer base over time.  It has a huge, pre-built audience ready to pre-order, just like Halo or CoD.  Why wouldn't it show both strong pre-orders and good growth in demand?  It's good a fair bit of marketing and hype plus the in-built audience plus - so far as I've seen - solid reviews saying that if you like Fable 2 you're going to like it.

GT5 isn't a surprise either.  The title's release date has been withdrawn unexpectedly, it's already taken years to arrive, who knows when they'll release it now, etc.  Why pre-order?  It was bound to take a hit until the sort out the release date.

People who pre-order tend to either already have an investment in a series - and hence strong desire to commit early - and to be far more up-to-date on games progress and the title they're interested in, that's why they pre-order.  This means they spot release date changes, etc. and react, or show strong support close to launch for the franchise they want to purchase.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

some numbers look weird (low in this case).

Including GT5, Kinect Adventures & Black Ops PS3
