Forums - Nintendo - Wii Party: explain yourself!

It is fairly common for games to launch in one country within EMEAA before other countries. Also, since sales typically start on Friday any tiny delay in shipping can cause 1st week sales to slip into second week sales. This sometimes causes week 2 to be even or above week 1.

I don't know if this is the case, but I wouldn't be surprised. Then again, sometimes EMEAA is just slow to pick up new games. They don't seem to be as frontloaded as other regions when it comes to casual titles.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

2 days of sale first week vs 7 days second week?

Besides marketing having apparently started late, also this. For "hardcore" games where there are a lot of preorders, first week will be more than second week even though in EMEAA it is usually 2 days of sale vs. 7 days. But for games such as Wii Party, 2nd week made of 7 days so much higherthan first 2 days  makes sense (as long as initial reactions are good).

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

Wii Party unlike many other games isn't frontloaded

Word of mouth is a powerful thing

Oh my god, it's working.  Mario Party 8 and Wii Play had a baby, and it's already getting stronger and faster.
