Forums - Sales - Will Nintendo break 100 million

yeah I def think the wii will pass 100 mil units....it most likely won't overcome the ps2 like most said it would (back in its first and second year of its life), I think that even though the 3ds is coming out and wii 2 prob in 2012 (at the earlies -most likely late 2012) people will stll pick up the wii

I started making videos for youtube; check them out.

Nope as Nintendo will replace it in one or two years and they don't have infrustructure to support Wii in developing countries like Sony did with PS2.

In fact i belive that in 5-6 years perspective number of PS3 shipped might be higher than number of Wiis shipped.

I really hope that was a typo or that was the most stupid thing i've read the whole day. Back on subject, Wii will definitely sell over 100 million, it will not be able to do PS2s record which is ship 150 million though.

By end of January it will be about 15M away from 100M, I think it has a chance.

Buying in 2015: Captain toad: treasure tracker,

mario maker

new 3ds

yoshi woolly world

zelda U

majora's mask 3d

of course it will no choice lol.

xD. Is this supposed to be some kind of joke? Really, this forum turns into a Wii-hate squad during summer, >.>.

To answer the OP, yes, it will, obviously. Most likely one and a half times.

I for one do think The Wii will get there, with 2-3 holiday seasons left and I predict another 2 price cuts, 25-30 millions sold throught out all that should be no problem, dont forget many of those first wiis are dying by now so there' ll be a lot of people buying their second wii soon.

Has there been any reports of wii breaking down now? I'm not sure I know anybody who's wii is breaking down from over usage, even those who play it constantly.

100m? Yes, easily.

Will it beat PS2 eventually? That's the bigger question as it just depends if it has the longevity PS2 has had. While it will remain around as long as Nintendo see profit, so a 10year life isn't out of the question. It will have a harder time as it didn't get the unquestionable 3rd party support PS2 did as well as other generation leaders PS1,SNES,NES.

If the company really has an agenda to push sales as much as possible, you know what this means? It means I'll eventually have two Wiis; the one I got in 2007 and the Zelda-gold, limited-edition console. 25 years of Zelda!! lol

A likely scenario, actually.

OP:  Over 100m?  Definitely, without question.

I dont see why not PS2 is still selling. It is $99 here in Australia atm.

If Wii gets down to these kind of levels towards the end of it's life it can easily get to PS2 numbers.

It is all in Nintendo's hands how much the WIi will sell now.
