http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=271011&site=cvg

intendo will release red, limited-edition Wii and DSi XL bundles in the US to celebrate Mario's 25th anniversary.

The bundles will go on sale in the States alongside the new Wii Remote Plus controller on November 7, and will be available "while supplies last".

Costing $199.99, the Wii bundle includes New Super Mario Bros. Wii and a Wii Remote Plus, in addition to Wii Sports and a red Nunchuk controller.

The DSi XL bundle packs in Mario Kart DS, and comes pre-loaded with Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters, Brain Age Express: Math and Photo Clock for $179.99.

Wii Remote Plus will be available from now on in all Wii hardware packages as the standard Wii controller, as well as on its own for $39.99.

The red Wii and DSi XL were launched in Japan last month and go on sale in Europe tomorrow.

Leading industry developers have been lining up to praise Mario and his creator Miyamoto following the plumber's 25th birthday.

Good to see. ^_^

Hopefully people will take advantage of this great bundle!

Also, the WiiMote Plus is only $39.99? That's good to see.

Just like the black wii, the red one will have no material impact on the Wii's continued downward sales spiral.

This is October and the wii will have competition from 2 other home systems for holiday dollars.  The black wii came bundled with wii sports/resorts and wii motion plus, adding new colors did not have the desired sales increase effect that they normally do, the red wii will be in the same boat

Red wii includes NSMBWii wihs is a big system sellers black wii doesn't, and Wii is cheapest out of the 3 so I don't see why prople will shellout an extra $120 or so on other motion controls which is pretty similar.

Well, it looks like November is shaping up to be a big month for Nintendo (especially the Wii) concerning their releases.

Here's the higher profile games coming out:

  • PokePark Wii: Pikachu's Big Adventure (Nov. 1st)
  • GoldenEye 007 (Nov. 2nd)
  • FlingSmash w/ WiiMote Plus (Nov. 7th)
  • Super Mario Bros. 25th Collector's Edition Wii w/ NSMBW (Nov. 7th)
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops (Nov. 9th)
  • Karaoke Revolution: Glee (Nov. 9th)
  • Raving Rabbids Travel in Time (Nov. 9th)
  • Babysitting Mama (Nov. 16th)
  • EA Sports Active 2 (Nov. 16th)
  • Sonic Colors (Nov. 16th)
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns (Nov. 21st)
  • Michael Jackson: The Experience (Nov. 23rd)
  • Disney Epic Mickey (Nov. 30th)

I'm expecting pretty good sales from these titles. It'll be interesting to see what November will have in store for the Wii, as well as carrying into December.

Yeah, I was just putting the Bundle in there to see how it fits within the schedule. Looks to me like they want FlingSmash to be as successful as possible.
