Forums - Nintendo - Wii users love Netflix: 3 million users

And of course this's before the Free disc upgrade

In Netflix’s Q3 earnings report, released today, the company revealed that their subscriber base has reached 16.9 million users. A breakdown of how subscribers connect to the service was not provided, but thanks to a recent Nintendo of America press release we do have one piece of the puzzle.

In the press release announcing Netflix going disc-free on the Wii Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime stated that over 3 million Wii systems have connected to Netflix. In other words, 17.75% of Netflix subscribers have used the service via the Wii.

That's awesome. Would you happen to know about the other two systems?

Im on o them

Online Wii owners are a myth. Nothing more. :l

I've got my BluRay player and my Wii both hooked up to the same T.V. and both with Netflix...

It's one of those "Nah, I don't feel like this Netflix today... I feel like this Netflix!" kind of things.

Wii owners gotta find something to do with it. Mine just sits there...

Anyhow, impressive numbers. I wonder how active the other consoles are.

I just recently got NetFlix and now its on my Wii too. I go back and forth. Sometimes I pick a movie and use it as backround noise as I do class work on my Computer. Sometimes I play my games. Ether way, My Wii is on a hell of a lot.

My guess is 360's higher, PS3's lower.  There's been a LOT of Netlix Wii commercials recently though (paid for by Nintendo btw) so that might be having an impact.

I'm thinking about giving the 1 month free trial a go soon since the netflix icon just popped up on my PS3 earlier this week. Already downloaded the app. Wanna make sure I have a lot of free time to use it though. If the experience is as awesome most say it is, I'm definitely gonna subscribe since films are the main source of my entertainment these days.
