Forums - Gaming - FF VersusXIII going mutli? I think so.

You are right Kitase did VI, VII, VII. The latter two were terrible. FFVII may have the best sales in the franchise but its one of the worst games in the series. If Nomura had a big part in VII's story, I hope he's learned something since then. FFVII's story had more holes in it than a warehouse full of swiss cheese.

@Badgenome

SE does need new leadership. They are sitting on a wealth of top notch RPG IPs and 90% of what they release has Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest somewhere in the title. It's miracle that a new Tactics Ogre is being released.

I'm not going to argue with the quality of those FF's as it's completly subjective matter. And many people would disagree with you.

it's not a new tactics ogre. it's a remake by the original team.
Nomura had little or nothing to do with FF's stories. He just did character design. The only ones he's had anything to do with the story is Kingdom Hearts and (maybe not sure) TWEWY

And though I love sakaguchi, the big reason why square enix exists and didn't go bankrupt way back when was because of the original final fantasy. But, the reason why the current management is at square enix. Is because Sakaguchi screwed up, big time. And when you screw up big time there are consequences.

And getting rid of Nomura would be really stupid of SE, because like it or not his games with his designs Sell.

OT, though they could squeeze a little extra out of it if it's exclusive. That wouldn't the reason that keeps it from being a great game. It's flawed to begin with if it doesn't end up great even if it's multi.

Naughty Dog had a listing recently where 360 experience was required.....its just something game devs do.

who didn't see this one coming? It's good news though. With the immense success of FFXIII, Square would be retarded to keep Versus an exclusive.

@darth - what has Nomura said about the game that the 360 can't do?

In an article a while back he said they are doing stuff like making in game battle system graphics look like CGI cut scene level graphics, real time cloud formation change or something....breakable environments. I mean it sounds like he really optimized it for PS3....from the way he said things in the interview it sounded like he was pushing Ps3 to its fullest.

Thats why I dunno if it can be ported to 360

Almost all PS3 exclusives, or promoted as such, have had this kind of "promotion".

Almost all ports ended being as good or better on the 360.

Two basic facts, my two cents.

This.

And if FFv13 does go multiplat then it should help SE cause FF14 definitely wont lol.

it could be a superior version launch title on the xbox 720 mhm mhm :D

Will a lot of Xbox gamers care? I don't think so...

Nomura didn't know! Hopefully this news will make him quit Square-Enix and/or life.

I'm sure you are kidding about the "and/or life part" but him quitting SE would be a godsend. Maybe they would put someone in charge of Final Fantasy that knew what the hell they were doing.

The last time I heard he is not in charge at Final Fantasy at all.  Kitase and etc not Nomura.

Was Namoura in charge of Crisis Core? If yes, I think he knows what he's doing.

No Tabata was

and his team is in charge of FF Agito XIII and their just finishing off The 3rd Birthday

It won't because I don't think xbox 360 can do some things Nomura said the game is doing.

HAHA! Like what?

Crystal Tools is multiplatform and very outdated. The 360 can run far more powerful engines.

And the PS3 & 360 are virtually identical when it comes to specs.

eh what how? It's not the cry-engine, but nothing else is anyways

It's far less outdated than Source, Gamebryo and many other engines that are still being used.

It also could mean they want someone who has worked on HD systems before then again who knows with this company MS fanboys will never properly support JRPG's so stop trying so damn hard Square Enix and just dedicate the game to one system. No more compressed audio, no more multi discs, no more extra development time and cost.

xbox 360 fans never supported jrpgs? the sells on jrpgs on the 360 are around the same as the sales of them on the ps2. not including the huge releases i mean lol.
