| Darc Requiem said: You are right Kitase did VI, VII, VII. The latter two were terrible. FFVII may have the best sales in the franchise but its one of the worst games in the series. If Nomura had a big part in VII's story, I hope he's learned something since then. FFVII's story had more holes in it than a warehouse full of swiss cheese. @Badgenome SE does need new leadership. They are sitting on a wealth of top notch RPG IPs and 90% of what they release has Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest somewhere in the title. It's miracle that a new Tactics Ogre is being released. |
I'm not going to argue with the quality of those FF's as it's completly subjective matter. And many people would disagree with you.
it's not a new tactics ogre. it's a remake by the original team.
Nomura had little or nothing to do with FF's stories. He just did character design. The only ones he's had anything to do with the story is Kingdom Hearts and (maybe not sure) TWEWY
And though I love sakaguchi, the big reason why square enix exists and didn't go bankrupt way back when was because of the original final fantasy. But, the reason why the current management is at square enix. Is because Sakaguchi screwed up, big time. And when you screw up big time there are consequences.
And getting rid of Nomura would be really stupid of SE, because like it or not his games with his designs Sell.
OT, though they could squeeze a little extra out of it if it's exclusive. That wouldn't the reason that keeps it from being a great game. It's flawed to begin with if it doesn't end up great even if it's multi.
