Apparently, there is a new system update for the Wii when trying to go to the Wii Shop channel. Perhaps, it is involved with the Netflix channel.

Yea, I just noticed that too. Now you can search on Wii instead of having to use computer to see if it is available on instant queue. I'll probably still use the computer more to find more instant titles but I am sure the search feature will come in use for some people.

How does watching a blu-ray movie disprove that? Last I checked, quality doesn't mean people flock to it, or else MP3 would not have succeeded CDs.

I noticed a while ago, that you could take the disk out of the Wii once you were on the Netflix chanel. The Wii runs cooler and seems just happy without the disk.
I would assume it was come contractual thing with it only being availible streaming on the Xbox 360. Thus they got around with the others by requiring a disk.
It's really smart of all of them to allow Netflix streaming.

That and having loads of songs without having to swap a disc, which is where streaming video really tops disc movies, no matter what system it's on. That's likely why Netflix got in on it as soon as it was feasible.
