For GTA4 and MW2, they are multiplatform titles, but how many people have bot ha 360/PS3? If those games went exclusive do you really think the game would sell in total the same volume? Games go multiplatform for a reason, to generate more sales.

You mention the PS3 userbase not being shooter crazy, but what indication is there that it will be Racing game crazy? After GT5P the best selling racer is Motorstorm which sold 3.52 million units, and after that it's NFS: Shift which sold 2.19 million units. If you look at the top 10 best selling PS3 games, 5 of them are shooters, 2 action adventure, 1 sandbox (which still has lots of shooting), 1 RPG, 1 Raccing game.

Look I'm not here to debate GT5's sales, I hold an intermediate view between most people (Average prediction on the sales prediction thread is 9.34 million, I voted 9.3 million). I only wanted to say that Freiza's opinion is not necessarily false just because a lot of loyal PS3 fans on this website want to beleive it is. His predictions seem unlikely to most of us here, but he is entitled to his own opinion, and both Freiza and those who have debated with him in this thread should really calm down and learn to respect the opinions of others. Otherwise your just being foolish.

I never said 15 million isn't possible, but how can you say 6-8 million is "troll job" and then back up 15 million being that much more reasonable? Don't you see, you have a very optimistic opinion about GT5 (which isn't bad), and as soon as someone here disagree's with you, you take them as an enemy. You like Freiza are still standing up for your opinion, which is great, but don't do it with insults and a general lack of respect for others. OTherwise how are you any different from him?

Also 14% of people beleive it will fall between the small 300k band between GT1 and GT4, but only 4% of people beleive GT5 will sell between the slightly lower, but substantially larger 1.2 million gap between GT4 and GT2. This is incredibly unusual since the average prediction of this website is 9.34 million, which is actually just below GT2 sales. Do you not think many voters just came in here and voted a random position they feel GT5 deserves to sell without checking the past sales history of the game? No, is this not a reasonable comment to make?

I don't care if you think GT5 is going to sell 30 million units (except thats trolling, so moderators will if you pushed it), I was only bringing up the point that people should be so rude to each other, and learn to respect each others opinions. This is not grade school, theres no need for anyone to suger coat anything.  If some one is being ignorant all should call them out on that, this way we will improve the quality of the board.   

GT5 selling 6ish million is a troll job or if the kid really believes that he may have some mental defencies that we all should be made aware so we understand where his posts come from and leave him be.  I dont want to hurt some childs feelings but i take it most on here are legally adults so act like it.

There no reason to respect ignorance, letting it slide will only ensure it happens over and over.  Whatever politically correct way you want to call it, how about "getting it wrong" should be corrected.  And if you cant take it get of a public forum where people will tear apart your opinion if you can't back it up in a intelligent manner.  

While respect is earned not given, Freiza has not earned it in any way.

6 million is possible if the game gets low ratings. Unlikely, but if GT5 goes the way of GT PSP, it's very possible. Freiza also said 6-8 million, and 8 million is definatly not troll job (60% better sales then GT5P is low, but understandable). Your doing no different then Freiza, just oposite ends of the spectrum (Freiza thought 15m predictions were just utterly ridiculous).

Saying comments such as Freiza having "mental deficiency" or that my points "lack knowledge" are not funny, and if you think they are then I think you have a very sick sence of humor. Maybe even a mental deficiency yourself. You only make these types of points to discredit my arguement, and this is the type of posts that get people Frieza in a frits. Arguements are not one sided, I hope you understand that.

I never said to respect Freiza, I only said it's not entirely his fault. Freiza, and those who debated with him, resulting in his ban, should all learn to respect each others opinions. There is not correcting opinions, you may disagree, but who the heck is anyone here to tell someone that they are wrong? The game isn't out yet, no one knows exactly the outcome of the game. If they did, they would make a fortune in stocks, and I'd like to know how they could fortell the future.

You are right one thing, it is meaningless.  But even meaningless discussions should be expected to include intelligent thoughts cause any fool has an opinion, don't you prefer there to be intelligent opinons/guesstimates.

That wouldn't be surprising, in all honesty.  Gran Turismo has historically been the best selling IP on PlayStation platforms, topped only by Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and San Andreas on ps2.  Now that the franchise's biggest competition is multiplatform (both GTA and now CoD), I believe it will yet again be the best selling series on its respective platform, with GT5 topping Modern Warfare 2's >8.69 million.

I think it could be the second best selling GT of all time.  I think it'll break 10 million eventually, and GT and GT4 are at 10.85 and 10.56 respectively.  If it dies out just north of ten million, it could easily end up being the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th best selling GT, given how close in proximity they are.

In direct comparison to GT4, I think it'll do better in EMEAA, about the same in NA, and worse in Japan.  Europe is actually the one region in which GT4 outpaced GT3.

Just because you disagree with Freiza's opinion, doesn't mean it's ungrounded. Just because in our debate, your unhappy with the result, doesn't mean you should resort to insult. It's these rude comments that ruin the forums..

I read through a load of these comments and i dont get people at all.

Frieza said he predicted 6-8 million copies i think thats a good prediction to be honest im thinking around 7 myself. People have been bashing him, someone who couldnt spell said he had a mental problem (get real) , calling him a troll etc, its babyish it really is.

Hes at least tried to back up alot of his points, he mentioned how MW2 is bigger than GT5, that should be obvious to anybody but then someone came out with GT5 is just as big as MW2, no it isnt not even remotley close.

This game will not sell 15 million copies, it wont, it definitley wont. GTAIV hasnt even done that yet. And if the game does end up selling 10 million copies, Friezas prediction will be alot closer to being right than 40 percent of users here.

As its been said GT3 was bundled in USA thats why it sold over 7 million there, over double what GT did, without any word of bundles for GT5 it most likely wont be selling over 3 million in USA, like GT4. 2 million in Japan isnt happening. And in Europe it will do well 4 maybe even 5 million.

This games got alot going against it, people are just fed up with the delays now that the games becoming a joke, i saw pictures for GT5 in a PS magasine in 2006. I go to college with out of gamers, and everybody was talking about GTA4, MW2 there was about 20 of us who went to the midnight opening for Black Ops.

But nobody is talking about GT5, most people have no idea its coming out. So for people to make predictions that its going to more than double GTA4s PS3 sales and MW2s sales by a considerable amount when the game hasnt had a fraction of the hype is silly.

I dont know how people can put down Friezas prediction of 6-8 million though because that has a far better chance of happening than over 15 million which is, well impossible.
