it will outsell both consoles (not combined) every week, this holyday.

When is the holy day?

Usually Sunday.

During the holidays the only console that would even have a remote shot at outselling the Wii would be PS3. Without Japan it's almost a mathematical impossibility for the 360 to do it.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

Wii momentum should begin to turn around starting this week with Just Dance 2. DKCR will also be a very big title and should boost hardware (not like NSMB, but still a boost for a few weeks). The glout of smaller software will help out too, as Wii is finally now coming out of it's drought.

From this point on I expect Wii to return to the lead for most weeks. This is in keeping with what I wrote a few weeks ago in leo-j's thread http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=3656524.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

I will bet that both X360 and PS3 will outsell wii this holiday barring a ridiculous price cut from Nintendo.

I would even go on to say that I think it will continue even after the holidays.

Some will argue that wii has no big releases coming soon but I find that argument baseless.

A quick check of the sales records will show that regardless of software, wii (even during months without a major release) has comprehensively beaten the competition during it's life til recently with few weekly exceptions.

whatever week MJ experience comes out it will be that week Wii wins or DKC maybe

The Wii should easily outsell the PS3 and the 360 (individually) during the holidays. This week it has been merely 33k behind the weeks leader and the holiday boost will be A LOT higher for Wii compared to the other two.

Hmm i predict that for holidays it will look like this:

America:  1st X360 with PS3 and Wii trading second place

Others: 1st Ps3 with Wii and X360 fightning for second place

Japan: PS3>Wii>X360

So Wii might happen to win one or two weeks.

I find it hard to imagine Wii constantly staying in 3rd place throughout the holidays. I think Wii will be in first place some weeks as well.

Maybe because Wii Fit and Wii Sports were popoular...now that they're not, Wii needs system sellers: last year it had Wii Sports Resort and New Super Mario Bros Wii; this year it has DK, Kirby, Wii Party and Epic Mickey...not very much, but Nintendo is lucky because Microsoft already launched its greatest game (Halo Reach) and Sony already launched the Move...still, Kinect and GT5 will push sales of the HD consoles and Wii has only the new 25th anniversary bundle. I reckon all three consoles will sell well and wil be neck to neck. Of course I'm excluding DS, its sales are not normal, it's the only console with an announced and amazing sucessor, with no big system sellers (except Pokemon) in the last months and 5 years old wich can still outsell any other system. Just crazy!

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

I am quite certain there will be a $50 price cut - maybe not officially but from a variety of retailers getting rid of the sku that doesn't have the new Wiimote.

Bur still, it is hard to say, so many factors:

- On the one hand, it's the holidays, traditionally Nintendo's strong season.

- On the other hand there will be a (heavily advertised) new kid on the block, Kinect, just in time for the holidays. And even in the case that Kinect won't work as advertised, people will realize this only after the holidays, so 360 Kinect bundles might make a killing during the holidays regardless of long term success. And while Wii might have Just Dance 2, Kinect will have Dance Central (and maybe Just Dance Kinect as well? I don't think Ubisoft promised anyone exclusivity after all?)

- Nintendo is finally getting a critical mass of new games again

- But GT5 is coming just in time for the holidays. A lot of pent up demand may cause an outburst of PS3 sales as well, just in time for the holidays.

So - hard to say. I would say that some weeks yes, some weeks no. Unless Kinect catches not only well, but really really well (which is very possible).
