I get so disappointed with gamers sometimes, two fantastic games are released and they both bomb in the opening week, while FIFA, Halo: Reach, NSMB and some Wii game just keep chugging along. No wonder new studios are failing, gamers are getting stupider and are relying far to much on older franchises instead of helping to create newer and better ones. Enslaved and Castlevania deserved so much more, they should have just made Enslaved a 360 exclusive and Castlevania a PS3 exclusive, maybe then they could have sold better on the back of fanboy hype.

Enslaved a 360 exclusive? When most of Ninja Theory's fanbase is on PS3? That would be a poor business decision.

Can Wii at least touch 80M before 2011?

Are you serious? lolz

He always makes those pessimistic predictions so he can say he made them right.

As you can see Wii is 5.5M from 80M, and for all we know it could be over-tracked massively, it should hover around the 200K weekly in November and maybe just top about 800K per week in December.

They obviously aren't, Enslaved bombed on the PS3 as well.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

I think we should give Enslaved some time

Its a New IP, the holidays are coming up, word of mouth is "ok"

So we could see some sustained legs at lower levels which in the end result in the LTD becoming so much higher.

We get so many games every year with low launch weeks which then drop down and sell 5K a week

But 5K a week over like 1 or 2 years turns into much more.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

It's not that they aren't, it's just that Enslaved released at a bad time and didn't exactly light the review charts on fire. Many PS3 fans would buy Heavenly Sword 2 in a heartbeat, however.

Thanks. I was going to mention that, only the difference being it did get good reviews. Not the best of reviews, but good reviews nevertheless.

Greatest Hits, I believe.

Said it a million times before, but I'll say it again: Sega, I'm begging you to release a GOTY version of Valkyria Chronicles with all the DLC packs and a trophy patch! I'm positive it'll cross 1 million copies sold by then.

Also, I wonder if Capcom is happy about the poor performance of Dead Rising 2 on the 360. I mean since they gave that version exclusive material, etc. based on the first game's "success". I believe they hoped it would sell more than 70.000-80.000 better than the PS3 version. It's tracking well below Dead Rising at t his point..

Man Capcom are laughable... They get what they deserve.

I absolutely don't see why.

DR2 sales are great on both platforms.

besides that it seems hugely undertracked when we look at NPD numbers. (around double VGC US sales)

Ok, I stand corrected =P Still, I think it's underperforming.

Part of me agrees with you, especially in Enslaved's case (Castlevania isn't a new IP or experience). However, Enslaved is from a once PS3 exclusive dev and there was no way Castlevania would be exclusive at this point.

It was just a throwaway comment. My point was more about how exclusive games would have gathered much more more hype, praise and then sales, only because they are exclusive. I'm finding more and more new games are bombing, despite being great and I think it's because gamers bought in bulk for the first few years of their consoles life time and so now they're stuck on those old franchises (Uncharted, Gears, LBP, Mass Effect) and unless the games an exclusive, it will just fall under everybody's radar, because a new Call of Duty, Halo, LBP, Fallout, Mario game is releasing soon.

We'll probably see something similar happen to the upcoming Naruto game, the first one was exclusive and it's sold 860,000, I have a feeling it's not going to reach those numbers as a multi-platform game, which is sad.
