Forums - Sales - The real reason for GT5 delay...

I think it's because of F1 2010!

[talking about europe here]

Think about it, the game already sold 400k on ps3. and 300k on 360 (PS360 owners affected) People arn't going to buy two racing games within a few weeks from eachother. Delaying GT5 a week or two would be smart because F1 2010 risked 700k GT5 buyers thus far.

And in america the preorders/marketing hasnt really taken off yet so it would be smart to wait a week or two.

Of course the Dev is going to say its for fixing bugs...thats he right thing to say. But we all know that they've already been producing the disks and perhaps shipping already

i thought it was a manufacturing issue?

This is actually a more probable reason than any other I've heard.

(Other than the Official Sony excuse that is)

Who bought F1 2010 and will not get GT5? People bought wheels because of  GT5.

If someone wants GT5... they will buy it regardless of any other car game.... GT has a pretty zealist fanbase... think Halo-like but for racing sims.

My personal thoery is that Sony delayed it so there's a little buzz and GT fans go "WTF!? GT5 is delayed" tell a friend... tell a stranger and all the gaming sites put that news up on thier site thus Sony gets some free marketing for their precious game.

All gaming systems, consoles/PC, have thier perks... why fight over preferences? I like Coke and you like Pepsi, that's it, let's not fight over which toy we like best cause that's what they are. Is someone's preference in a toy important or is the relationship between you and your neighbor more important? Answer is obvious, but THE most important thing is your relationship with God almighty. God Bless you in Jesus's name.

I can communicate without talking... I can send a loved one money without actually sending money... and I can commit theft without the product disappearing, the point of theft is the point of theft not one of it's possible symptoms which is the product dissappearing. The thief wants to gain something without paying for it, that's the point of theft, the thief doesn't have to care or anybody else has to care if the product dissappears. The product dissappearing is just a possible symptom of theft. Gifts are sacrfices, in order to give a gift, it has to be a genuine sacrfice/gift, meaning a copy of the game isn't still in your PC. Piracy is theft and/or being a culprit of theft.

That's a pretty good theory.  Only one problem with it, though.  Even if those games released on the same exact day, GT5 would destroy it in sales.  I doubt many people would put off GT5 for F1.  They may save up extra for both, but almost never would they disregard GT5 for F1.

now this is an much better prediction than one person who said it was the kinects fault

but i believe that a lot of fans waiting for GT5 bought F1 to hold them off, if Gt5 was released before F1, it would of suffered.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

No,

They just felt pity for F1 and didn't want to rape it sales-wise.

No, i don't think so. Just think about it. Releasing GT5 in early novermber would give them basically 2 months of holiday sales. Now, they release it as the probably last big game of the season when all the other big games are already out...
