Hummmmm...

EU: 3.5M shipped = 2.5M sold.
US: 1.5M shipped = 1M sold.
JP: 1M shipped = 500k sold.

Still missing 1 million units.

first week or December?

Please read what I am saying

Devs LAUNCH shipments can last up to 6 months and more nowadays. ala Fallout 3, Tekken 6.....

I don't buy that one bit.  There are only a couple hundred thousand preorders in NA.  EU will obviously have way more, but no where near enough to justify 7 million for launch.  IMO, GT5 will be one of the lowest selling GT games to date, selling only 7-8 million lifetime (and I use the word "only" very lightly here obviously!).

It's just a vague feeling I have.  I can't really support it with tons of evidence or anything and I'm no where near confident enough to bet on that, so don't ask

EDIT:  After reading people's posts it seems this may be shipments for months to a full years' worth of sales so in that case I find it a very reasonable amount.

If Fallout 3 could ship 5 Million at launch

GT5 for sure can ship 7 Million at launch......it has much more hype and interest than Fallout 3 ever had.

You miss asia, South america, middle east. Lol.

That would be 1M for Japan, 1 Million for the US and 5M for Europe.

Sold and shipped are two completely different things.

Except Fallout 3 is multiplat so that makes 2.5 mil shipped per console.

One is exclusive and the other is multiplatform.

He does and GT is very popular in those reasons

and to add PS3 isn't hacked "by a statistically significant amount" yet so GT5 will be the best selling GT game in the South America, Middle East, Asian regions (India, china, singapore and so on)

Their first and last shipment :D

Above: still the best game of the year.
