Every now and then Nintendo decides hold off on a series for a generation. I think that should be the fate of F-zero Wii. Nintendo should wait until the next console to tour Captain Falcon.
Why?
Besides emphasizing speed, speed, and more speed, F-zero games throughout the years have been easy on the eyes for racing games in their given generation. I'm normally not a graphics whore, but having an unparalleled experience is a big draw to F-zero games.
In terms of rounding out the Wii library there are some great crazy racers. Love it or hate it, Mario Kart Wii has sold gang buster and has a decent online experience. Excitebots is wacky and loads of fun. I guess you could say Excitebots has thus far been F-Zero's replacement. If Trackmania gets some tender lovin care, I could see it being an awesome game. Nintendo lately hasn't cared about flooding a certain genre on the wii(2D, Party) but perhaps that could be a reason to hold off.
Iwata says 2011 is potentially worrisome for Wii. Perhaps. However, by all accounts 3DS will be huge, Zelda is always huge, Trackmania will hopefully come out some time next year, Pikmin 3 might show up, and The Grinder will finally come halloween 2011. To me that is a good lineup. Plus Star Fox could make an appearance.
And one less quality Nintendo game for third parties to whine about.
I would make the next F-zero a launch title for Wii HD.
Do you think Nintendo should hold off with an F-zero till next gen?
