Forums - Nintendo - What do you love about Wii

Initial hardware is inexpensive, great local multiplayer, good first party lineup, very easy to pirate games. Nintendo using older hardware also means that PC emulation of Wii/GC games is pretty far along already which is great.

Also, Disaster: Day of Crisis was suprisingly good despite the laughable story. Trauma Centre: New Blood is harder than most 'hardcore' games I've played this gen.

Games for everyone!

games for everyone?? not if you love fighting games or WRPGs

The virtual console is the main thing I like.

"Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth." -My good friend Mark Aurelius

So far about 20 games..... and backwards-compatibility... that's it...........................................................(crickets crickets).............................................. (tumble weed passes by)......................... yeah.

All gaming systems, consoles/PC, have thier perks... why fight over preferences? I like Coke and you like Pepsi, that's it, let's not fight over which toy we like best cause that's what they are. Is someone's preference in a toy important or is the relationship between you and your neighbor more important? Answer is obvious, but THE most important thing is your relationship with God almighty. God Bless you in Jesus's name.

I can communicate without talking... I can send a loved one money without actually sending money... and I can commit theft without the product disappearing, the point of theft is the point of theft not one of it's possible symptoms which is the product dissappearing. The thief wants to gain something without paying for it, that's the point of theft, the thief doesn't have to care or anybody else has to care if the product dissappears. The product dissappearing is just a possible symptom of theft. Gifts are sacrfices, in order to give a gift, it has to be a genuine sacrfice/gift, meaning a copy of the game isn't still in your PC. Piracy is theft and/or being a culprit of theft.

@foxtail  just because they never have been on them b4 does not mean they get a free pass, thats BS, they are the market leader but looking at the game library one would not think so.  why wouldnt a racing game work???? last I checked devs could just have us use the classic controller or even the GC one.  Gonna have to check out that skycrawlers game heard it was good, with GT5 being delayed. next month im going to give the Wii some love havent gotten a game for it in a while

Since Nintendo's own internal development teams would be unable develop such games it would be up to 3rd parties, and they have been absent.  A racing sim (not arcade) would need precise controls and would have to use the classic controller and/or GC controller only, but how many 3rd party developed games use only those 2 control schemes.  I was thinking about 3rd party mentality more than anything else.

@guiduc  you actually liked dead space extraction??? i thought all Wii fans hated it cause it was a stupid on rails game, finally someone saw it for what it was. I almost forgot about homebrew, holy crap. yeah thats almost worth the price of admission right there. dont mean to be an ass but where are you guys getting all this variety from? of the big three consoles the Wii is seriously lacking in more than one genre. No simulated racing games, one (bad) 3d fighter, no WRPGs. And the core games they do usually get in some of those categories are just ports or multiplats. If im wrong please let me know

Well, I wouldnt say Super Smash Bros is a bad fighter, and as core games, even if you don't agree, I believe even Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are core games, if not, who really cares about that? Mario as always been about innovative and accessible to everyone.

Well the least I can say is that I always loved Nintendo for their first party games, and never really bought third party games. Thank god they have been fantastic in first party games this generation.

What are WRPGs?
