Forums - Gaming - Not sure how it works, but is this considered false advertising?

diseptive - maybe.  false - certainly not.

MS makes no claims in the commerial that finger movements actually do anything and as long as you can make the required input movements while moving your fingers MS didn't do anything legally wrong in that commerial.

honestly, i think you are looking for faults a bit too hard.

Thank you for the response. As I stated in the OP I wasn't sure on how it works in the advertising world and only brought it up because it was a topic of discussion in another sites comment section.

It is simply something to talk about. Nothing more. I saw it as a commercial displaying how you are the controller and showing more of how you play the games instead of what you are actually playing, so it got me thinking, especially with Sterling's write up about MS ordering him to take down the ads in his earlier article.

People think he was ordered to take them down because he bashed the hell out of them, but I thought maybe it could be on the lines of what I was thinking.

Not much to talk about these days you know? Nothing to do until I pick up a game later today, which I am still undecided on.

yeah, i agree.  not much to talk about lately.  i have a feeling the holiday sales won't even be that interesting this year.  i mean it should be but since vgc 3.0 took away all of the sales data tools there haven't been many insteresting sales threads 'cause no one knows what the hell is going on anymore.

I wondered what happened to all those threads that would come complete with graphs and shit. Forums really took a hit with 3.0.

I'm derailing my thread now.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Sure it does. I just had it fetch me milk and made me toast.

mine is just sitting here and collecting dust.

But I've to say it's the most beautiful dust I've ever seen ;)

Dude, my PS3 went to the pizza place and picked me up a 2-litre, a large pepperoni pizza, and breadsticks all while I was playing Uncharted 2 last week.

I was reading the article about how MS sent Jim Sterling a take-down notice for his rather harsh article about the Kinect"teasers", but as I watched the Kinectimals one I couldn't help but wonder if it could be considered false advertising.

If I were willing to bet I would bet that they had to take down the videos because Destructoid plays an advertisement before every video and maybe MS didn't like them making money off their ads?

Or it just could be me hating to watch any video on Destructoid because they make me watch those advertisements.

Its the same as Sony falsely advertising Move as actually being fun

stop making these negative threads. It's getting old.

Don't start, he'll launch into a ragin attack against you claiming you're paranoid, despite the constant anti threads from him.

@lyricalstylez  just cause you dont find it fun that doesnt mean a couple thousand people do. I dont think Wii sports or anything with the word "Wii" in it is fun but a million people think so, so who am I to compare

And go to work for me.

False Advertising! The milk you see in cereal commericials and advertising is actually glue! Milk doesn't have a good enough texture and look for filming. Glue such as Elmer's Glue has a thicker and richer look when shown, which is why advertisers use glue. That delicious bowl of Frosted Flakes you see on TV or on the box is filled with glue!
