Forums - Sales - Kinect sold out at Gamestop and Newegg

Well the evidence is now starting to stack up that we can expect a good launch for the US and UK. For me the fact that Amazon have now stopped taking pre-orders speaks volumes. You can still buy the Kinect bundles though so does this mean it is existing customers who are buying this system? Or they had less Kinect standalone systems and more bundles. The trouble with these answers is it just leads to more questions.

Kinect as seen by PS3 owners ...if you can pick at it   ...post it ... Did I mention the 360 was black and Shinny? Keeping Sigs obscure since 2007, Passed by the Sig police 5July10.

I don't see anywhere at Gamestop that Kinect is sold out.

they have it back in stock then. It was sold out for a few days.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Anyone else find it odd that we don't have any actual numbers, they might say their sold out but they didn't say how many they ordered, kinect sales would be easier to track then moves and yet we got nothing but we got move numbers, I don't think kinect is doing very well for the hype and advertisement MS has poured into it

Hmmm... the preorders for Kinect Adventures isn't that high. How can this be?!?!?!

It's a bundle, that's why. You get it for free when you buy Kinect stand alone or Kinect bundles.

They haven't given any numbers, but Kinect Pre-order sales were was #1 at Toys R Us and has been bouncing up and down in the Top 20 on Amazon for awhile.

It was rumored that Gamestop had taken almost 1 million in preorders for Kinect back in Sept. There hasn't been any official announcement, but it's looking like this might be true.

Called and verified.  Best Buy has sold out of the 250GB bundle and the standalone.

I wonder if Vgchartz counts the 4gb and 250gb bundles as Kinect Adventures pre-orders.

Edit: What about the rest of Europe?

It was sold out at Gamestop, but it appears they are taking orders again.. I expect Kinect to have a better 1 week and month then Move has..

I don't think Microsoft actually began manufacturing the thing till about now if they have started yet. There were way to many bugs and things they said they had to fix like the sitting down part which apparently has been fixed. I think they spent every moment they could upgrading and debugging Kinect to make sure it performs well.

So I doubt they would have started manufacturing till right about now if not in a week. They have probubly promised a certain amount of units to retailers and are rushing to meet demand. Also I do think Kinect is very popular as well meaning their is going to be way more demand then units.

Logistically companies begin making products months before they launch it and have plenty to sell.... even so if Pre-Orders are high they also can't take orders ( a promise to have your product on day 1 ) if its selling that well.. Seems like Kinect will do well.. but "well" is an objective idea.. I think it'll do well ( meaning better then Move) .. but i dont think it'll be like half of all 360 owners have one..

I'm figuring that MS will probably sell about 3 million units through the Christmas season.  Although, with the bigger retailers selling out this early in the game and having to request additional stock, I might be bumping my prediction up to the 4-4.5 million range.

October console sales might be a good indicator.  But we really won't know at all how it'll do until the November numbers.  One thing is for sure, it'll have the 460,000 Move units in a month beat by a mile.
