$250 for a good racing seat?  Hahahaha.

Here's about the cheapest decent racing seat you can get: http://www.gmpperformance.com/index.cfm?PG=detail&PID=87590

That said, I'm totally jealous of your set up (and why go for a REAL race seat if you're not actually going to be racing in it?).  My only complaint is that your shifter is way out of place.  It can't be too much trouble to move it down to a more traditional location.

I tried some of those high end racing seats and pretty much all of them are ass to sit in for more than 15 minutes. I have no clue why anyone would pay 1000 bucks for a racing seat like that. Maybe its the brand name thing. My spine needs more support than Recaros or Sparcos offer...

I may have written racing seat which is my bad...I wanted to say "bucket seat".  The bunch of places I went to had bucket seats from 99 bucks to 300 dollars. So I decided to go with this one as I found it most comfortable. I was honestly contemplating of getting a real 1993-1997 Camaro bucket seat cause I love the seat thats in my car but they were hard to find at car wreck yards. They do have lots of ford escort seats lol

As far as the shifter, the GT Racing wheel I have was made for PS3s GT5 and only has a sequential gear shifter, not an actual clutch/6 speed one like the G25 or G27. I'm really not a serious racer and play my games on automatic transmission so the shifter is fine where it is...Works great for Need for Speed Shift and Sonic all star racing. :) Gonna try Dirt 2 and Sega Rally Evo when I see them on sale...

Haha, they're ass to sit in because they're as light as possible for whatever spec they're designed for.  Different racing leagues have different requirements for seats that far exceed the normal specifications of passenger seats, and they cost that much for a reason, trust me.

My Formula SAE team at college uses a seat made entirely of carbon fiber.  It weighs almost nothing, and is actually LESS comfortable to sit on that a cactus.  If we didn't get a deal on the carbon fiber, and do all the design and fabrication ourself, it would have cost a few thousand dollars.

I'm a big manual transmission guy.  Sequentials are ultimately faster (even in the real world), but there's nothing like rowing your own gears.  I'm playing a racing game for fun, so of course I'd go for the most enjoyable set up possible.

Not all of us are made of money. I don't own any lube. I thought the TP was a nice touch though ;)
