First off I'm a heavy gamer and play MMO's constantly. I will in no way use this data to convey a negative light on video games. With that being said sometimes people can play games like MMO's to the point that it becomes damaging to their life to the point they lose there jobs, or ignore loved ones. I firmly beleive it is not the games fault and is purely the players addictive habits.

The reason I'm collecting data is for a class expository research assignment on Problematic Usage of MMO's. I have decided not only to use other sources for my project, but to go the extra mile and conduct my own basic research. I will be doing a question a day on VGC and also be conducting some interviews in and out of games. If you're interested in being interviewed please send me a message. Your identity will be kept confidential and the only information given on you will be your answers, gender, and age.

I've been playing off and on since the proto MMO's of MUDS. 20 years... I used to play on the Iceonline BBS. Majestic Realm was AAA title. Anyways they were bought by EA for their early network code. I will remember MR fondly.



Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

4-6 years.

it all started with Runescape. i didnt likle that game, but i still played it alot. when i left that, i went around the internet looking and trying other MMo's 'till i tried the WoW demo. i was hooked. i'v been playing WoW(almost exclusively) now for more than 2 years. off and on really. i had 2 lvl 80's 'till i got hacked, so i had to restart. im kinda thinking about trying LOTRO since it's free now.

I voted 4-6, I played Guild Wars for a really long time, and I log on from time to time, but I haven't actually really played it for the last two years probably. I'll definitely get back into MMOs when Guild Wars 2 comes out though.

5 years.

That's how long I played Dark Ages of Camelot. I don't think I'll ever play an MMO again. It takes too much time.
