Chart Track rarely release numbers, and they haven't released Wii hardware numbers before.

Also, what you are saying wouldn't be spin, it would be a false statement and illegal since 1 in 3 is 33%, that's the minimum point at which the statement would be true. However, as someone said in this thread, it ultimately implies that vgchartz have overtracked Wii in other places.

 

Edit: btw, can we make it a rule that Jedward are not to be talked about, ever?

They released Wii hw numbers for January 2009 which were 4.9m

It is lying to say 1 in 3 when it isn't but that's exactly what PR is. For all we know it still can be rounded. what's closer to 30% ? 1 in 4 or 1 in 3 ?

Nov 2006 - Jan 2009 (27 months, 3 xmas') 4.9 mill (includes 08 Wii Peak)
Feb 2009 - August 2010 (19 months, 1 xmas) 3.4 mill ... (I might add it's least successful xmas in UK history, and least successful Q1/Q2/Q3)

Don't buy it.

Could be yeah, but I doubt that matters much. - ~100k for everything (except for PSP and PS2) and you got the numbers for the beginning of January.

Seems like a rather desperate move by Nintendo to exaggerate the numbers by this much.
