I know Donkey Kong Country Returns is right around the corner and that got me thinking. Which franchise will be next, first Retro rebirthed Metroid then after three successful games they bring back Donkey Kong Country. Who is next on Retro's list?

There are rumours that Retro was working on two games (DKC being one) and the other unannounced. If this is true then what franchise does the other game belong too. Also would Retro go back to its routes and produce a new IP for Nintendo and would Nintendo actually instruct them to create a new IP?

What do you think Retro is working on right now? Is it too early to be talking about it?

Retro's take on Starfox would be awesome.

What I think would be best for Nintendo however, is that Retro work on a major new 'Western' IP.  Despite living in the U.K, I'm not really a Western gamer (only about 10% of my games are made outside Japan), but I truly think Nintendo should get Retro to make games to appeal to what are mainly Western exclusive tastes, a TPS or a W-RPG maybe?

I also wouldn't have any problem with them working on another Metroid.

My guess is that Retro's next project is either another Donkey Kong, another Metroid game, or a new IP.

Star Fox or F-Zero would be too good to be true, and Zelda and Mario are already in perfectly good hands at Nintendo EAD.

i wish they could go back working on metroid. i loved the prime trilogy, but since it's a closed chapter and they are doing 2D pltaformer like DKCR, i wish they could do a real 2D metroid, not that sort of abomination that other m was.

i would also love to see some original ip from them.

I dont know what's next but I really like their work and believe that they are easily one of the top teams in Nintendo.

would be interesting to have them work on another Donkey Kong Game, but in the Style of Donkey Kong 64.... i love Collectathons :D

I figure that they'll be working on DKC for awhile; Metroid is over for them as well as being in the hands of someone taking it in a bold, new direction and I can't see them shifting to a new franchise yet.

hopefully not donkey kong. They are too talented for that. Make some new Adult IP for next gen would be cool.
