Forums - Nintendo - 3DS Virtual Console: Expectations, Hopes, Dreams

Well this is what we have confirmed so far...

...so, what else would you like to see?  Games?  Systems?  Prices?

Personally, I expect to see GBA and Game Gear games soon, but I also hope the service grows to encompass more esoteric platforms like Virtual Boy or NeoGeo Pocket/Color.  I bet Wonderswan happens too, but it may stay JP only.

As for additional GB/GBC games I'd love to see...

  • Bubble Bobble Junior (Taito)
  • Donkey Kong (Nintendo)
  • Dragon Warrior I & II (Square Enix)
  • Dragon Warrior III (Square Enix)
  • Final Fantasy Adventure (Square Enix)
  • Gargoyle's Quest (Capcom)
  • Mega Man V (Capcom)
  • Metroid II: Return of Samus (Nintendo)
  • Magical Chase (Square Enix)
  • Metal Gear Solid (Konami)
  • Mole Mania (Nintendo)
  • Quarth (Konami)
  • Shantae (Wayforward Technologies)
  • Spanky's Quest (Natsume)
  • Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (Nintendo)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (Nintendo)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (Nintendo)
  • Trip World (Sunsoft)
  • Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (Nintendo)
  • Wario Land 2 (Nintendo)
  • Wario Land 3 (Nintendo)

I hope we'll get to play all those amazing Atari Lynx games!

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

Pokémon! But I doubt we'll see it.

Above: still the best game of the year.

I dunno not too keen on virtual console.

But the Golden Sun games are welcome

I would hope for 500 points for a GBA game, 400 GBC, 300 Gameboy. I would be okay with those prices.

It's going to be higher, but while I'm dreaming....

Man, I'm going to blow so much money on this. I almost dread the day that the 3DS is in my hands...

Related note: I hope the VC on the next home console includes a price shift for older systems.

1000 Gamecube, then shift everything else down a tier. N64 games 800, SNES 600/500, NES games 300.

It's nice to dream.

Maybe Nintendo could charge 1200 for GC games and keep Wii points the same price, therefore in real terms getting cheaper.

Nintendo really need to sort out the ripoff that is the Club Nintendo star points to Wii/DSi points though.  It's currently at 4 to 1, so in order to get 500 Wii points I would have to transfer 2000 Club Nintendo Star points (8 full price games).  It should be preferably 1 to 1 or at most 2 to 1.

on topic, I would Love to see Metal Gear Solid on the GBC, the GB Warioland games and Donkey Kong 94 as I still haven't got round to playing them yet.

If GBA games are included, Final Fantasy VI should be included, due to it's limited print run new copies on Amazon UK are going from £129.99 ($205.59) and the most expensive being £199.99 ($316.94)!  It makes me feel lucky I bought one on a school trip to Poland in 2007 for the equivalent of £30 ($47)!

To be honest I never really grew up with a GameBoy. I grew up with the home platforms but it wasn't till the late 90's that I actually got a GameBoy.

Once I had the GameBoy I mainly played Donkey Kong Land games , Pokemon Red, Mario:SixGoldenCoins and Tetris. plus the old Wisdom Tree games (Which will never come to 3DS).

I want to buy games I never got the chance to experiance though I'm not sure which games they will be.

I guess my dreams are

-Virtual Boy support

-GameGear support

-EarthBound 1 2

-EarthBound (Mother 3)

I really want to see the EB games brought to the west that would be my biggest dream, but of course it won't happen. Hopefully Nintendo releases enough good classics from all their systems to keep me occupied, though I doubt I'll spend as much as I did on VC for Wii.
