Because there's a pretty wide variety and little things can affect the taste of scotch a lot. Hell, a single drop of water can completely change the taste of a fine scotch (that's why people can be really particular about how much ice is in their scotch). I'd suggest trying something aged in a different type of wood (for instance, I hate Sherry Oak but I love Fine Oak Macallen), different age, and a different brand. |
I don't mind scotch at all, just don't like the chalky flavor, I just haven't found one I like enough to spend good money on. I've only met a few people that drink scotch and what they had wasn't all that good, it was probably cheap. I don't know enough about scotch to really begin to find one I like so every bottle I get is a shot in the dark.
@Gnac I drink gin with either ice, club soda, or tonic. I don't hide flavor, I love it.
