Current numbers point to Wii dominating ,specially in the USA .The scenario put by the latest numbers and trends would be the Wii dominating in USA but not a lot over the combined 360+PS3 ,winning in Japan but a 60-40 or 65-35% against the PS3 and winning too in Europe but by not much against the PS3 and definitely below the PS3 and 360 combined numbers .In some markets as Italy ,Germany ,Spain ,Portugal and others the PS3 would win ,in others as France and UK the Wii would win but succumb against the combined PS3 and 360 numbers .
In any case I just dont want to accept that the way weaker machine and the one with the worst current and future lineup will just own traditional gaming and turn everybody into Wii Fitters and Wiidogs rabids with just a little niche for hardcore games in 2-3 games for year . |
At the rate the PS3 is selling I wouldn't make too many assumptions about what its future software line-up will look like; for the first year of the Gamecube's life there were several large and important videogame properties which were supposed to be exclusive (or at least available) for the Gamecube, which were never released for the Gamecube because of its sales. After months and months of delays, and that all of the major third party PS3 games being released are available for the XBox 360, can you really be that confident that any particular games will be released for the PS3?
Much like the Nintendo DS, it doesn't matter whether you can accept that the weaker system with (in your opinion) the weaker game line-up has won ... You can sulk all you want, and you can insult gamers in general for choosing a system that offered something new at an affordable price, but this doesn't change the fact that the Wii is going to continue dominating for the rest of the generation.
