Minecart subway to Castlelands is now fully operational. I've also begun the process of mob-proofing what I can. There's much better lighting than previously, though there's still a lot of work to do, and the bottom floor of the castle is still incomplete. I just need to figure out how to make wide-open areas not spawn mobs, but not ruin them with a million torches. Probably isn't happening.

I've also officially removed all of the bugged carts. I made an X-ray variant of my texture pack and used that to see the carts through the ground, so I was able to pinpoint where the stragglers were and didn't have to guess anymore.

edit: Figured out the reason. It only snows in an area IF there are players there while it's precipitating. There'd never been snow here because there'd never been players here before when it was snowy. =/

so update on parts, have the case, expect ram and cabling tomorrow, it still says the bulk of my order should be here tomorrow, but its not in town yet so im thinking Thursday. the ssd is the last part coming in and should be here friday, they always seem to hit me last on deliveries, so if i do get the parts friday it will be about 5:30 pm, cant say how long it will be before its ready to run as ill have some tweaking to do on the settings to get everything right. im still shooting for a move sunday night or maybe sunday morning depending on how my os installs go... trying to decide between ubuntu and fedora, also will have a windows 7 pro in trial mode ....

seems they got thier ass in gear, my bog box O parts has moved form being in another state to out to deliver.. ive never seen one go out for delivery at 00:55, hopefully im home before they get there.... its a pain to go to thier site, (im betting they got thier ass in gear cause if it does not make it today to the door deliver is refunded and an 20 lb box is never cheap to send  )

its also strange they did not take the other box of stuff thats been in knoxville since yesterday.

got all the parts save the sata cables and the ssd they should be in tommorow night. the delivery came in so late, i had almost left for work already, so no progress yet

alright, finished putting it together before work got the ssd in just before i left. have to move the OS to the ssd, right now im stress testing to make sure no issues with any of the parts the fan/cooler was hell to install i might have to consider the fact i have giant hands.. or normal builders have small hands... (i loved the duke controller on the origianl xbox) so maybe just maybe the switch will be tomorrow night at least for a test run, the future she is fast, very fast..

update, so i got called into work tonight to cover, this will slow down deployment of the new tower, everything is up and installed it just needs to be benchmarked and tested, to confim heat sink and all the parts are working right

I've been playing a stack of Terraria lately. Anyone else got this game?
It's like a 2D Minecraft crossed with castlevania and some Metroid.

Too be honest I've kind of lost my drive to play Minecraft after the huge castle I was working on was suddenly dwarfed by tone's castletown.

meh, my castles are big, but lack detail. that's one thing I need to work on is coming up with creative detail. you can probably easily make something better without it being bigger. =/

edit, right now the computer dynamically scales from 1.6 up to 4.3 on 4 thread apps and up to 4.7 on single thread. if you see any server side issues not related to network let me know, and ill turn off the scaling the new server runs great at a fixed 4.4, i spent most of yesterday testing after i got off work in the morning. no voltage change and thermals under 70c idling about 64c but with the dynamics it idles at 33 c and keeps the ceiling under 65c full power
