Oh, I just thought I'd add this FYI:  It seems likely that this redstone issue is the result of the 1.4 update. 

Redstone torches will burn out if you make a short circuit that flashes power on and off very fast:  the torch hisses and turns off.  It's supposed to recover after a little while; but it seems that now, not only does it not recover, but that block [edit: that the redstone torch was on when it overloaded] is unable to support normal redstone torch operation entirely. 

I didn't think I'd caused those short circuits while in the building process, but I wouldn't be shocked if I did -- and the bug description fits. 

Hopefully, they'll fix it so that not only does that problem not happen, but the "dead" blocks will be once more capable of redstone torch operation.  Meanwhile, be very careful when building redstone devices.

really? all the update said is it would fix the april fools joke.... hmm i may have to update the server then its still running the old patch

But ... what?  I thought you had, since I updated and was able to play in the server.  When the main 1.4 update happened I couldn't play because it wasn't updated, so I assumed you'd updated already this time.

Also, it's come to my attention that it's possible to have a 3-button system at my exits instead of 2 levers and a button.  On Route 1, this would be one button for blue, one button for green, and one buton for the exit, and they would all automatically launch you.  However, this would require significant amounts of redstone circuitry. 

This is how it is now:

This is the other way:

Note:  The middle button is the exit button in the graphic, but it's only there to make the diagram work.  It could be on the right like it is now, which would make sense since the exit would go off to the right. 

KEY: 
RT0 = redstone torch that is powered/off by default
RT = redstone torch that is unpowered/on by default
RSN = RS-NOR latch. 

An RS-NOR latch is a circuit that "remembers" an input.  So if the button for the Green line is pressed, the track will stay turned to Green, even though the button has gone back to its neutral state, until the Blue button is pressed, at which point it will turn to Blue and stay that way, etc. 

The second RS-NOR latch would control the "exit/no exit" track switch.  The Blue AND Green lines would both flip the track one way, and the exit button would flip it the other way.  

The RT0s on the left would actually be above the RTs, which would be behind the buttons.  The RT0s would allow the redstone to the door to be off by default, and activatable by any of the buttons, AND not interfere with the rest of the circuitry.  (You would not believe how much hairpulling I did trying to put this functionality down with the rest of the circuitry.  I concluded a totally separate circuit was necessary, or in any case the best option.)  [edit:  I now suspect that the problem was with the peculiarities of trying to modify the station I used for prototyping the upgrade.  But if it does work, it'll actually be slightly more complicated than the separate circuit, but better because I don't have to put circuitry above the stop and I can come up from beneath instead, where the door is anyway.  In any case, I'm leaving the diagram as is for simplicity's sake]

tl;dr  I COULD do that.  Maybe I will.  Not very soon...

When I add more stations, I'll probably try to add this feature, and then feel guilty and upgrade the old ones.

[edit:  P.S.  OK, I can't help myself.  Here's the revised, theoretical diagram of how I think the door circuit could be integrated below.

[There are now 2 RT0s on the non-exit button circuits to create separate circuits -- i.e. the single line from each button becomes two lines each which DO NOT intermingle; however, the lines going to the door may intermingle.  Splitting the lower circuit is therefore equivalent to a separate upper circuit.  I am now pretty convinced it will work and also think it's more likely to be the better solution if it does.]

I expanded the Old Sea Road, which I'm planning on renaming the Sky and Sea Road, or S&S Rail.

It now runs to a location roughly in-between Jammin's pyramid, my Hilltop Fortress, and my Bulgogiwa Kimchi Castle, and it does a lot of it up high with a fantastic view of everything around. It's a great, scenic way to get around.

1.4.1 was an optional patch. though our server is updated now

I looked at it and was impressed.  Aside from my comments on the other thread I have one more question:  why does the switch have two repeaters?  It looks like one would have been plenty.

Attempted upgrade to Joe's Tower exit.  "Abject failure" best description.  Will try again later.

[edit:  On the plus side, while the RS0 technique works, I remembered that redstone repeaters also prevent back-contamination, which is what I needed to avoid.  This may help on the second try, when I go from scratch.

[On the minus side, that exit is currently inoperative.  Recommend walking to Joe's Tower exit and taking his rail to spawn point if you get stuck there; avoiding that stop is also recommended.]
