I continued the track from the spawnpoint to a small peninsula near the far end of Spawn Island, where I was putting in a new station, and I was going to go from there BELOW my small Stargate to a point in between my Hilltop Fortress and my big sci-fi castle (there's a small pond there that's somewhat closed in, works fairly well as a new statio location). From there, I was going to run it to the big Stargate, then who knows from there. If that's not a satisfactory route, that's fine; it CAN be set to switch between multiple routes. But right now, I'm just trying to figure out how to do these stations so they properly work for going to and from different routes. I want to be able to return even if the switch is set for the OTHER station, y'know? Can't figure it out (though I haven't really TRIED that deeply either). |
OK, I initially wasn't totally sure what the problem you were having was, but now I think the final two paragraphs in this post is the one you are most likely asking about. If you want to ask me questions here or when we meet in game I will be happy to comply.
Have you examined my test station on Farm Island? And the video has a fully functional example although it's all pretty fast.
Basically the spawn-Farm-FinalFan line is NOT what I see the final product as, although it could be rigged up as a temporary solution by just putting a track intersection hooked up to redstone with a lever so it switches you from "boost to Farm Island" to "boost to Small Stargate (or whatever)", and then the one at Small Stargate either boosts you to Big Stargate or Spawn Point, etc. You can also "hide" the redstone connection by putting a redstone torch under the track intersection.
Just remember to make it so that the track always sends you to the stop no matter what direction you approach from. The existing FF-Farm-Spawnpoint line has such a setup, although it's a big sprawling mess and I have no doubt it's needlessly complicated. Still, it probably could teach you something, and it does work, even if it's a kludge.
You may recall that originally you had to get out and walk to the booster, but I recently was bothered by that and managed to patch that (this involved that redstone torch, although that was only necessary due to space limitations that will probably not apply to you).

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.
